Hi, I ran the pattaya marathon 2 years ago and want to do it again this year. The pattaya marathon website is still showing details for the 2010 and I can't seem to find any details of this years race. anyone know anything about it please.

I only found this yesterday, which appears to be their official site: Pattaya Marathon 2011 (English) and they have a Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/pattayamarathon

 

If you ran 2 years ago, then this year's course is very similar, except it starts/finishes at Central Festival Centre on Beach Road. They changed the course last year, to ~10Km laps around Beach Road and 2nd Road, but it is back to being a single circuit again this year. ([sTART] Central Festival -> North Pattaya Rd -> up to Sukhumvit -> to Jomtien Beach -> back over the hill to Bali Hai -> along Walking St and Beach Road to Central [FINISH]) for both the Full and 1/2 marathon.... phew, tired just writing that !!

 

I should be back in Pattaya this weekend and intend to head up to City Hall on Monday to see if they have more info. If anyone is interested, I can post it here.

Wow, Pattaya marathon, that seems to be something for the lionhearted. I never would have expected a marathon run to be conducted in Pattaya.

 

I guess you have to add some 30-60 mins to the time you'd need for a marathon somewhere in central Europe due to the climate. Is that a fair estimate?
