Gold necklace snatched from Frenchman’s neck

Mr Frederic Granier, a 46-year-old Frenchman, is about 50,000 baht poorer after he was relieved of a two-baht weighted gold necklace and its attached Buddha following a snatch and grab that took place on Naklua road on Monday. He was driving a motorbike, his Thai girlfriend was on the back and one Thai male on another motorbike came past, reached out and snatched the gold necklace. After the shock of the theft Mr Granier tried to catch up with the thief, but he was too quick and disappeared into a side road. A report was made at Pattaya police station but the chances of finding the thief and the necklace don’t look good.

I don't think anyone deserves to be robbed but it's a reminder that you need to take care of your valuables and if you like wearing "bling" you are a bit of a target anywhere. I would imagine that if you go through your life wearing flashy jewellery you are going to loose some of it at some point wouldn't you?

 

I'm not a jewellery man myself and it's a cheap digital watch for me on my hols as they're accurate and if I wake up after an extended drinking session at least it'll tell me if it's the morning or afternoon and even what day I'm in! Lol.

I think ,if you know where you are and get the risk to wear a so expensive necklace,you must be verry stupid.

In every newspaper you can read about this kind of robbery since many years ago.

But if you don't be able to learn or an analphabetic.You must take the consequensis as well.

So ,my advice,take care of all you do in Patts,so you don't will loose to much.Cheers.
