The limit before it needs to be declared is US$20000. You can bring over that but you would need to declare it to customs.

Currency Limitation:

For Thai currency, the amount of Baht 50,000 or more must be reported on departure to Customs, except those traveling to Lao PDR., Myanmar, Cambodia, Malaysia, and Vietnam are allowed to take out Thai currency not exceeding 500,000 Baht.

For Foreign currency, any person who brings or takes and aggregate amount of foreign currency exceeding USD 20,000 or its equivalent out of or into the Kingdom of Thailand shall declare such amount of foreign currency to Customs. Failure to declare or make false declaration is a criminal offence.

So you can bring as many Bahts as you like into Thailand, but foreign currency in excess of us$20000 must be declared.

I would be so unfair if they only allowed us to take a few days worth of fun money into Thailand :GoldenSmile1:

You can take in as much as you want. Suitcases full if you like but if it is more than US$20000 you must declare it. Although they might ask a lot of interesting questions if you had suitcases full of cash... :GoldenSmile1:
