Best travel options to Krabi from Phuket

Can anyone suggest the best options for travel to Krabi from Phuket?

 

Are ferries, buses or taxis a resonable option? I am not interested in hiring a car.

I got the ferry which stops in phuket town where you are meet by mini buses which take to Patong etc

It was all fairly easy and not expensive

i remember getting a private car between 4 about 4 years ago,

3000baht and about 3 hours drive i think

Negotiated 2000 THB from Phuket airport to Aonang last fall. They start asking 4000 THB but business was slow 10PM and the driver got relatives in Krabi which may have contributed to the nice price in that area. Seems like forever to get there due to alot of road work going on, (believe 2,5 hours)and on top didn't really liked the place
