In a nut shell, i would say yes, you can just head down there and find a place very easy, though i have never been in peak season! My 1st time i did so much homework on the internet and read you can just head down there and find a place i took a chance and found a nice place real easy, and this was without the help from this site......

So if you know what type of location you wanna be in, as in....

Very close to action,

Chilled out area,

Right in the thick of it etc,

You will get all the help you need here, even prices, pictures, phones numbers, web links, etc.

Like ost22 says, when are you going and what kinda location or vibe are you after, tell the forum what your list of requirements are and you'll be hooked up......

Huh, have you been to Thailand before you got 71 posts and your a member plus.

Peace

If u just stay for 9 days i would book before i go...At least for 2 day so u know where to stay when u leave airport with driver so he dont take u around to agency or somewhere else :Cross_Fingers:

You don’t have to book in May but if you know the location is a good idea.

You ask about Irish Rover. I don’t know about that but have stayed in some other places in Soi LK Metro. Most places are 8-10 rooms. So if you want to stay at a certain place you have to book.

Just book somewhere safe for a couple of nights and have a look around while you are here for something for the other 7 nights its just to hard to carry bags from Hotel to Hotel while seaching ....and maybe use Bells Bus service to get to Pattaya if you are arriving a BKK during the day.... they will get you to the hotel door without messing you around, it's a great service for 200 baht and you can book online :GoldenSmile1:

yes bell bus service is perfect.

You should be okay just to turn up, it's not peak season and there is plenty of places to stay.

Irish Rovers is a great place to stay, I think about 650 baht for small room and 850 baht for large room with balcony. Really good people run it and they will make you feel like part of the family. Rooms are okay for the price, 24hour bar and a cool place to drink the morning hours away.

PM Irish Rovers and ask any questions you can think of, they will get back to you within 24hrs.

They are fairly well booked most of the time, so if you want to stay there, I recommend you book.

Have a good time
