Just read in a danish paper that from April 1st the price for a 2 (3) months visa will be increased by 100% and even the 30 day entry you get on the plane will cost 1000 baht (to be paid at immigration which might it take longer time to get through immigrations).

Wouldn't take that as gospel yet mate! As price for 60 day Tourist visa is still free now but if they increased that by 100% then it still would be free??? YES

Thai Visa Forum is the best knowledge of information regarding these issues or i'm sure someone will come on here in the know and give an accurate account!

Not sure you are right about the 60 days visa - was only free untill end of march, the increase of price and the charge of the 30 day entry though was an April Fool (thought it would be obvious) :)

You should check your facts before posting. On all Thai embassy websites in Europe the 30 and 60 day visa are still free.

If she aint whoring she's boring!

I think that the free tourist visas ended at the end of last month. They just haven't updated their websites.

BTW what date is it?.... :GoldenSmile1:

I'll probably have to pay the £28 for a 60 day tourist visa for next Nov. Better if it was still free but the cost of the visa certainly wont stop me going. Just 1 less LT and an early night!

My Pattaya budget is perfectly adequate as long as I don't spend any of it

Free visa had expired on 31st march (yesterday). But didn,t know or hear about 100% on visa 2/3 months stay... Are they trying to con us... That is one or two L/T or S/T crossed off on my visit... damn.

Can you provide us with a source (link) because there's no mention of this on this Thai Embassy website.

I can't read Dutch but this is from the link you provided:

Tourist Visa 1 entry *

Geldigheid Paspoort: 6 maanden vanaf dag van aanvraag

Geldigheid Visum: 3 maanden vanaf dag van aanvraag

Kosten: €30,= (vanaf 01-04-2011 moet er weer betaald worden voor het visum)

Does the last line say that from the 1st of April the cost is €30?

To be honest - the increase of prices and the fee for the 30 day entry was ONLY on April 1st :D The fee for the 2 (3) months tourist visa has been reinforced though
