I have used them for 5 years, in person and by mail. Excellent efficient service, passport returned stamped by post in 3 days. No issues whatsoever.

As the other members said fast efficient service , mine was back in two days , make sure the immigration give you the correct leaving date , at the airport they only gave me the standad 30 days eventhough i had a 3 month visa , they changed it when i pointed it out to them but worth checking

Just out of curiosity,Is there any specific reason as to Why there is a Thai Consulate located in Hull?

I think it is because most of the inmates that live in Hull want to leave, I may be wrong though.........

Send cash as opposed to a postal order. You have to send registered delivery anyway so you are insured and avoid the postal order fee.

because its one of the biggest and best cities in England. It is also home to the friendliest people in England (along with Liverpool). Thai people are very friendly so it stands to reason they would be more at home amongst friendly people. I cant see the thai people enjoying living in a place like London or Plymouth where the locals are rude and stuck up.

I know you speak with tongue in cheek but in reality you couldnt be more wrong. I live in Hull and can tell you that most people from Hull are fiercely defensive of our City. I work away in the navy and can say that the majority of lads who work in the navy actually relocate to live in the navy cities like Plymouth or Portsmouth. This does not apply to many Hull residents, I can only remember one person from Hull who moved away to live in PORTSMOUTH or PLYMOUTH. Most people from Hull would not dream of living anywhere else in England. The residents of this fantastic city realize its one of the best cities to live if you are from the UK. However, its still shit compared to most other countries in the world, dont get me wrong. But I can honestly say I have been all over the UK and Hull is a million miles better than any other city.

Used them in the past when I lived inUK and found them to be very efficient.  Someone there motivates people to do the job that they are paid to do and it really shows. Not use them now as I live in Thailand but would recomend them to anyone.

Very good. I have been down in person last two years to get my double entry visa (6 months). Its very easy to find on an industrial estate before you get to Hull.

Take two photos, passport, money, fill in a form, and hey presto 15 minutes later the visa is embossed in your passport.

Totally agree with you SSSS and I am from Leeds!!

I know john very well, I do not discuss politics with him because as a politician I hate him with a passion but when he is not at work, he is a genuinely nice fella.

Not sure but the first appointed Consul to Thailand was a shipping company owner who's company was in Hull. Presumably he opened the Consulate in his home town.

The Consulate is effectively a family business that's been on the go for almost a century now.

Got my visa from Hull a couple of weeks ago and it is by far the quickest visa Consulate i have ever dealt with..... I should know because i visit many consulates both in the UK London, Birmingham and in Bangkok and normaly have to return the following day (fast service, more money) or wait for it to be posted 3-5 days later.

I am now on my 4th 'O' non immigrant visa multi entry. They have now changed the previous stamp to a stick in page.

The Consulate is normaly deserted but you have to ring up for an appointment.

Fill in the form, and with a photo a copy of bank statement and cash...hey presto 15-20 minutes later you are in and out.

Brilliant and only an hour from Nottingham.

I ask myself how this place can justify its location and existance with so little foot traffic....maybe everyone posts their application.

It is a well know location to get visa that are hard to get at other embassy's or consulates. When i first moved here i tried to get a 1-year Non-O in my home country the Netherlands. It was refused.

Send everything by mail to Hull and got my passport back within a week with the visa. Many people in Europe do it this way, although i heard they where making it a bit more difficult a few years ago. But obviously it is back to normal business.

PS Not a surprise he is easy as he does not get a salary, only a fee based on the number of issued visa.
