Bangkok - Nang Rong

Me and the ladyfriend are flying into Bangkok (not sure what airport yet) from Phuket and plan to head straight to Nang Rong for the whole meet the family thing. Need some advice on my best option. As I see it I can....

 

1) Fly to Don Muang and get a train from there (maybe overnight)to Buriram and get taxi from there.

2) Fly to Suvarnabhumi, taxi to Mo Chit, then bus to Nang Rong. (getting times and price impossible though!)

3) Get a taxi the whole way.

 

Which of these is most comfortable and how much would a taxi be? Considering the mother will apparently be wanting a "gift" Im keen to keep costs down!I think the train could be kind of cool and the thought of banging her in a carriage has crossed my mind!!

Bus is an ok option I have used the bus service a lot in the past.
