And a great place it is too ! You can read all about the Fundraising that goes on around the World to support Fr.Ray Brennan`s Legacy to the Children of Pattaya , and all the Different & Valued support work with the Deaf,Blind,Handicapped and disabled in Pattaya !

Can we make donations of items like clothes and toys directly to the orphanage and are these needed? Normally when we go to Bali my gf empties out all the kids clothes they have outgrown and takes them over to donate.

Very good and honorable post Noquit, yes in fact the children love when you go out to visit them. They will take old clothes as it’s also used as vocational training for the girls to re-due them for the other children to wear, as well as books, hygiene products and food, some guys have gone out and spent a day teaching kids how to play musical instruments (piano, guitar, sax, flute, clarinet and drums) some guys go out on Saturday which is sports day and get a team up to play football, basketball and volleyball. There’s a mystery man who show up once a month and brings ice cream out there! And if you just want to go out and make a private donation or to sponsor a child you can do that as well (I sponsor 2 children)! There is a guy out there now for a afternoon giving some kids a computer class! Also a lot of the major companies have donated material and we go out and do the work such as painting, putting in a walk way, installing hand rails in the stair wells at blind children’s home. The nursery at the orphanage had terminates so one day a bunch of us moved furniture out so workers and us removed the wood from the building. One guy here turned his old TV set into a aquarium for the kids. So as you can see there are many ways to give to the kids!! the Father Ray Org web site is www.fr-ray.org

Have spent many a happy day at the Orphanage and the SK Home, when you see the Kids Smile it makes your day seem so much better ! last time we went we took some of those Blow up toys, Hammers, baseball bats , fish, guitars etc.... which the kids took to the Island day out and apparently spent the day bashing hell out of each other !!!! Pens & Pencils are always welcome for thier school work as well .

And although the SK Home is a little out of town , nr the Elephant camp, the kids there always have a welcome for you !

At the end of the day you will be shattered, tired and very very happy

You also have the mercy center who have been running since 2000 and who are always happy for donations of baby food, milk and diapers etc. They rely 100% on donations, here is a link to their site.

This thread is being closed (temporarily?) while we formulate our status on charitable events and donations.

 

PLEASE - I am not being a kiljoy but The Orphanage have asked that donations are made direct to THEM either via their website (links in the thread) or in person at the Orphanage.

Many thanks to the guys who have made those links available here.

They NEED food, shampoo, toothpaste etc.

 

 

We have asked the mod' team to look into this and the thread will be opened or replaced when they have had time to do this.
