I love the Thai and Indian food in Pattaya but one thing i loved when i went back to the UK was

the chip shop curry they put on the chips there. Its a non spicy gravy type curry that is put

over chips from the fish and chip stores in the UK. I can't find it anywhere in Australia and last time

i checked all the British places here and none of them had it, which was surprising since its so popular in

the UK.

Has anyone had some over here or know where to get it?

You should know by now that Oz is at least three years behind the times. Sounds delicious, though. Perhaps a business opportunity for you.

a lot of chippies use dinaclass curry in the uk,i think this is the one your talking about, its a powder and you just add water.check online someone will sell it

Wow I'm from oz and never been to the uk but what you describe sounds interesting and I am curious to try it. So it just tastes like a mix between gravy and curry but not spicy? Can't be healthy I would imagine

I used to work in a seaside bar/restaurant.

All the surfer types from all over the world used to come in and order chips with curry sauce all over.

We used to buy the curry sauce powder by the bucket load from the cash n carry....cheap as chips so to speak.

Its the exact same stuff you get in British chippies and if you ever get curry and chips from your local British Chinese takeaway....yup,its the same stuff.

Mix it with cold water to form a paste then add boiling water and whisk....easy.

I can get the stuff in tins to make in Aust but its not the same.

Well i was born in wales, but raised in Aus and didn't we Aussies send troops to fight for you guys in two World Wars so you Poms should help us Aussies. Your incompetent generals used us as cannon fodder in WW1. 5000 aussie troops die in one battle so some

upper class English general can move his desk 6 inches closer to Berlin!( ripped that from Black Adder)

Then you guys didn't send anything when the Japanese were coming at us!

I did buy the granuals in a tin at a British shop but it just wasn't the same. I want to get some in Pattaya freshly made at a Fish and chip shop.

Thanks for the offer though. And tell those British generals charging at machine guns with bayonets is not a sound tactical decision!

Seriously 3 years behind???? And you suggest a curry powder sprinkled over chips as the future of fine dinning in Australia...I pray we never catch up to the country that thinks mushy peas is a taste treat. There are a million flavours in south east asia, you should never crave for this type of food.

I know, I'm weird...I don't eat KFC or big MACs either...Love an Aussie pie but I know it is wrong :sign1:

There are some that only employ words for the purpose of disguising their thoughts.
