Travelling to Pattaya Alone?

Take a break

Recommended Posts

I also went in LOS alone, had no problems finding beer buddies and having a great time. I also didn't have the stress of living by a timed schedule, always did what i wanted to do at anytime.

great stuff.

cheers,

Thanks guys.

I'm planning a solo trip soon and this is very reassuring.

I've travelled many places alone, but Pattaya was intimidating me. a little.

Looking forward to it...

Flying Solo is the only way to go. You won't be alone for long though.........

Arite lads,

I'm going to Pattaya for the 2nd time in August, I'm meant to be meeting a friend in Bangkok whos moving to Oz... He is normally a man of his word but if he pulls out I'll be travelling on my todd...

Have any of you guys travelled alone? If so what have you got to watch out for? Is there plenty of other people away for a bit of debauchery on there own aswell? :07:

Any tips welcome. Cheers

Al

thought you preferred soi 8?

There are some that only employ words for the purpose of disguising their thoughts.

The first and only time (sa far) I've travelled to LOS was on my own. It was fun but I definitely watched my drunk level so as to not to make an ass out of myself as well as put myself in situations where I'll end up a few bahts lighter or with a sore behind :)

I even ended making friends with a fellow solo traveller and to this stay we still keep in contact.

My next trip this November is planned with a good mate of mine, but I honestly think both options are great. If you get a bit bored or are unsure what to do, there are so many expats and get togethers where you can introduce yourself to and become quick friends.

I know that's what my plan is.

Have fun on that trip :)

:) Life happens when you're busy making plans :)

Looks like I will be travelling alone in November. I am a little nervous. I don't know what to expect.

Don't know if there will be anyone there around my age to have drinks with either. Might be better that way less chance of getting into an embarrissing/stupid drunken situations.

Anyway if your going to be there from late November to early December let me know would cool to meet up for drinks.

Nothing to be nervous about. Pattaya is one safest tourist spots you can visit, provided you don't flash a lot of cash or bling, and you don't drink yourself into a blackout. Don't worry about chatting up your age group (just make sure she's 18+.) The essence of a Pattaya holiday is NOT planning. Just live in the moment, smile ('cause you're in heaven), and go with the flow. Not knowing what to expect is the best part!

I even plan on LIVING alone here in Patts/LOS...!

Friends you can make in all places, can't you?

And not being on a timetable, and able to do what you want whenever you want it is very prettttttty.....

I'm with Mark on this one. I'm giving serious consideration to relocating on my todd.

pretty common to travel alone nowadays. I've never had a problem in Thailand with monger types. Some of the kids down south are a bit less trustworthy and of course the taxi and bus drivers are always looking to rob you. I do always have a backup plan for things like "stolen passport" "stolen bank or credit cards". i.e copies of the info and extra cash that I always keep in a safe place in the hotel etc..

Careful with your gear when flying solo. I don't usually take traveler's cheques, but do when alone, just to have a backup in cases things go sideways. Stay at slightly better places, to make sure the staff are reliable enough to provide some security.

Just back after going on my jack, well I was for the flight over and ride to hotel in Bangkok 25 mins later was taking a pleasant stroll up the Marmite Motorway in Snow Whites Soi 26 later wet to Soi Cowboy on own again until the Welllllcome Sexi Man greeted me LOL

Two days later in Pattaya and whilst alone spoke to more folks on the Beach in the day than Bars at Nite

Women excluded of course.

As others have said on yer jack well you can suit yerself

You are better off on your own like most onb here have said. Just strike up a conversation with anyone , most blokes are decent and will give you all the help that you need mate. Main thing is ENJOY YOURSELF.

I travelled alone in April, first time in pattya and first time in Thailand, read everything on internet about both Pattaya and BKK. If i believe everything i read, i wouldnt have left hotel Room, with every scam , rip off and dubious women, taxi drivers and everything else. Didnt have no problems, spent first 4 days in BKK and and 12 days in Pattaya. Had a really good time in pattaya, met lots of people to talk to in bars etc. Must admit spent alot of time in Foxy Ladys in Soi 8 pleasent atmosphere and no hassle, and none of the girls pushy. i enjoyed it that much back agaim 29th september

Chat up anybody.......butt if you meet a fellow travler who is "down on there luck" and needs a loan because they were robbed, short of funds, etc, just tell them "sorry I cannot help as I have limited funds"

If you do give some money , you will NEVER get it back...............

You have been warned.....Had a british lad try it on me in Pattaya, and a swede try it on at BKK...funny thing same story both times, "no money to eat"..........

Improving one Issan girls cash flow , one cash grant at a time !

There are rules to live by if your going to attend Pattaya regularly.. Go with someone who knows the rules until you live by them.
