Any good Vegetation resturants

Recommended Posts

Have anyone found any good vegetation place. Since I dont eat meat but I do eat seafood. How safe is seafood? Have anyone gotten sick?

I'm a veg guy, have been for 20 years now. Haven't found anything specifically for a

vegetarian with the exception of Indian places. I usually will go to a place and explain

how I am a vegetarian like the monks and want them to prepare the food with no

animal, I want the fried rice with no egg ect..

I find the backpacker areas are good for one thing and that would be a source of this

type. of food

I also carry a coil for making hot water and sometimes make ramen in my hotel room.

I started doing this mainly from getting food poisoning than anything though.

BTW vegetarians don't eat fish, then again you never said you were a vegetarian.

You won't get harassed by me but I know exactly what you mean. the word

vegetarian gets certain (insecure) folks to start with the insults.

I'm not 100% of the time vegan. I aspire to be and it's much easier at home

than while i'm traveling.Buddhist monks eat a vegetarian diet. But the practitioners

don't seem to go for it, not as much vegetarian food over there as you'd think.

I try to get the vegetable or mushroom ramen bowls or I dont use the flavor packet if it's a non-veg flavor.

I just get some soy sauce if I need some seasoning. This ain't fine dining here but maybe 1 meal a day I will "create"

from things I find at the supermarkets.

One vegetarian restaurant is listed at this website below.

This place is a bit out of the way and i've never been there

I will give it a try next time i'm in town.

Most Thai places will do fish/seafood. So if you go anywhere you should be catered for.

So, is there any tread left on the tires? Or at this point would it be like throwing a hot dog down a hallway?

I'm not a vegetarian and never will be, but there is a wide variety of restaurants specialising in sea food. Unfortunately, I'm not particularly keen on sea food so I can't help with specific recommendations. You certainly won't go hungry.

People can follow whatever diet they wish though I do get somewhat irritated when some people who try to force their views down my throat - usually the animal rights activists.

There's a lot of vegetation in the north, so I've heard. :GrinNod1:

So you're a vegetarian, but you eat fish? One of those on the fence vegetarians who eat meat I see.

Regarding seafood, add 'talay' = 'shrimp & squid' or 'kung' = shrimp, to the end of any meal e.g. Tom Sum Talay. The majority of seafood can be eaten raw, so will be safe when cooked. Seafood is popular with the Thais & is available everywhere, from the street carts to high end restaurants. Happy eating.

Peace. :D

I don't consume any flesh except pussy. Am I a vegetarian? :Finger5:

Welcome to the forum. You'll fit in here nicely, like a fist in a glove.

Peace. :GoldenSmile1:

Are you talking about 'papaya salad'. Mate this is real Lao language as spoken across the Mekhong from Thailand and rarely heard in Issan but they can understand. Where did you learn this? We need to drink some Lao Kao together.

There's a vegetarian restaurant on Pattaya Tai, at the junction with 3rd rd, that I really like. Lots of thai dishes, done vegetarian style. Good value too. I quit being veggie but still eat there from time to time.

Have you read the forum rules?

The only restriction on eating is they don't eat after noon, they are not vegetarians . Killing animals is another issue, a Monk would never do this and actually a Buddhist is not supposed to kill any animal. Other religions supposedly work in the slaughterhouses in Thailand. But as we know to grab a chicken from the front yard, kill it, and pluck it and throw it in the wok is common in the provinces. Hell I even learned how to do this in my high school.
