windows live problem

Since I got my computer fixed Windows live messenger doesn't seem to be working properly. When I sign in all appear to be offline except for some Facebook contacts who appear black as opposed to the grey offline ones. When I click it says they are offline and when I send a message it fails. When someone starts a convincing on Facebook it doesn't register on msn anymore.

When I was on the laptop where wlm works, when I checked the pc I found convoy Windows open but could not reply as they where apparently offline even though I talk on laptop.

I've installed and reinstated but still no joy.

 

All I did to computer was change motherboard if that's any help
