I concur about the noise. You hear your neighbor banging his woman. You hear the talking in the hallways, and the high heel shoes of the woman.Very loud.Get a room furthest away from the stairs. Not as loud, but loud.I thought the rooms were nice and clean, and the staff were nice also. Can't beat the price.I stay at the Grand hotel on soi 14.Recently renovated.Looks very nice.I recommend staying on a floor no lower than 6th.You get a great view.Especially the rooms facing Beach road. The even numbered rooms.Low season rate, about 1000b.High 1400b.

If you want a budget hotel on Walking Street it is good value, and the staff are very helpful. It is really a very basic guest house, though, with small sparsely furnished rooms. A little more money somewhere slightly further from ground zero would get you a much nicer room.

If you do stay there - avoid there over-priced taxi service.

i' ve stayed there twice

rooms are reasonable, id taken, hallways noisy

good club & great girls

be careful of your head on the staircase

all in all ok with a great position

could do better for your money around lk metro

only 10 baht on the bus away from town

I've stayed there three times now. I would agree that the hallways can be noisy and if on the first floor of rooms, there can be some noise from outside. i would recommend a room on the second floor, however as mentioned there is no lift, so if you have a problem with stairs, then that may not be an option. I am very happy with the rooms themselves, nice beds and the in room wi-fi is excellent, I never had a problem with it in my whole stay there recently.

The bar is great and the food, particularly the snacks, is good. The location is excellent if you prefer Walking Street to anywhere else. Would I go there again? Yes, I would but I have a desire to see different things and I may migrate to the LK Metro area, with the growth in bars, go-gos, massage places etc. there.

Im a Secrets regular...been going there for the opening 2-3 days of EVERY trip for years.

Plus points...

1) Location, 1/2 block from WS and the action.

2) Nearly new, fresh, clean decent sized and reasonably comfortable rooms with a nice size shower, safe, tv, mini-fridge, table/chairs, all the basics.

3) RATE is good, only 895 baht all year round for a deluxe room.

4) GREAT staff (bar and hotel).

5) Lots of nice girls in related gogo, always 2 or 3 hotties too!

6) "Safe" western food served in the restaurant...which you can charge to your room if you want, but it is a bit pricey.

Minus points (if these are important to you)...

1) NO elevator (i have always requested and gotten a room 1 flight up cuz im a lazy bastard).

2) NO pool (not important to me for the first 2-3 days as I am there to fuck and sleep during this initial period).

3) Surcharge to use credit card, but at least they accept them.

4) A bit noisy until about 3am, so if you like to turn in early, probably not a good choice, as you are above a gogo!!!

Again, this is not the place for me for a long stay...but a GREAT OPTION FOR A FEW DAYS until i am done fucking like a rabbit.

After a few days, I move over to the Pattaya Bay Resort.

Hope this was helpful...Alex

I have stayed in there twice. I agree with Alex's sharing. Maybe more:

+ Location and the staff is perfect, never had problems.

+ Wi-fi performance. Never had problems about that.(thats important for me because sometimes I need to send emails with big size attachments for work)

+ They have 'yatch service', never tried but sounds fun with a group of friends.

- Some rooms are set up for "short time". (I think some rooms in the first floor) If you will stay for some days, those won't be a good choice.

- They don't have an elevator but only 3 floors. (I am a lazy bastard too, I would prefer the elevator for the first floor :) )

- Even in low season they can be all booked. Reservation is the best.

- Taxi Service is expensive. (1500 baht for the airport)

Sorry for my horribe english pals. I wanted to share some pictures from my room in Secrets but I dont think that you will want to see me naked :D

I have a biased view because my favorite Patts girl is a coyote dancer there. With that being said, I like the bar. It's laid back and the music isn't so loud that you can't have a conversation. The food (both Thai and Western) is pretty good, but it is overpriced.

I've never stayed at the hotel, but from what I've seen of the rooms they look pretty basic. I prefer something a little more comfortable and with a pool.

Someone posted a link above to a thread regarding mandatory drinking for the staff. You can read it and form your own opinion - it's not my place to try and persuade you one way or the other.

Secrets is always my first choice when going for a quick trip. Room, girls, bar, food all in one place....you truely don't need to leave the hotel! Location is good, staff is friendly and the girls are nice. Bad is the lower floors can be noisy and no elevator.

It must be a popular choice for some, reservations are hard to come by on short notice.

Enjoy your trip!

I stayed at Secrets last month -- my first trip to LOS.

The pros/cons that have been posted were accurate IMHO. Great location, Great customer service, Cheap but spartan rooms.

I was on the top floor -- third floor of guest rooms, but they start on the second floor so it was up 3 flights of stairs every time. Gets old pretty quick but not too big a deal.

The rooms are sparse, but large and clean and are an excellent value IMHO when you consider the low cost and outstanding location. if you want a sofa, comfy chairs or widescreen TV you'll be disappointed. But otherwise it is great for mongering.

Soap and shampoo dispensers in the shower were a nice touch.

So is the lighting system, which has a dimmer so you can easily dim the lights to a level that is acceptable to all with a minimum of hassle. Remote control Aircon is handy too.

As others have said, you'll hear hallway noise -- doors opening and closing, people talking and high-heels clicking on the hallway floor. But the wall insulation was good and I didn't have any issues with sounds from the adjacent rooms.

I was on the third floor and didn't hear ANY bar noise at all.

Location simply can't be beat; less than a minute to WS, and Babydolls, Angelwitch etc are all steps away.

Bar food is fine; a bit pricey but available 24/7 so you can have breakfast whenever you want.

Several good Thai food vendors (carts as well as sit-down service) in the adjacent soi.

Taxi service is more expensive than most places, but it is bulletproof and for a first-timer was worth the money IMHO. If you arrive in the evenings when traffic makes it impossible to drive a car up to the Secrets door they send a gal out to meet the car and bring you back to the hotel. Not a big deal if you have been to Pattaya before but VERY helpful for the noob. Even at 1500THB it is ony $50; worth it for me on my first trip.

The bar environment is great -- but the no-hassle environment is different than most clubs in Pattaya. One word to the service gals or mamasan and you'll have all company you want and none of the company you don't want. Good deal I think; just don't be surprised if nobody takes the initiative to walk over and jump in your lap.

Larry is the bar manager, and he make sure you are a happy customer. He'll introduce you to other customers as well as girls and make sure you don't feel like an outsider -- extra important if you are travelling solo. Lots of friendly customers so a good place to chill as well as to monger.

Many drop-dead gorgeous gals too, day and night.

But the most important thing to me is the phenomenal customer service from ALL the Secrets employees. They greeted me by name from day one, always treated me like a *friend* and not a customer.

They do book up early and extending your stay while you are there may not be doable so plan accordingly.
