Just spent 3 weeks in the flipper house

great hotel stayed in the c wing

1350 a night inc 2 breakfasts every day

ok the brekky isnt brilliant but i have had worse

and the room was comfortable and quiet even with the rebuilding in the area

staff was so so but no problems with any of them, just a bit slow on the safety box at times

room well cleaned every day(yes i left a 20 bt tip each day)

the bathroom is good with non slip tiles and a really good shower and seperate bathtub

wont stay there next trip but only because i plan to stay in soi lenkee

I stayed in the superior room for 1600 and didn't have a separate tub, but room was large and had in-room safe. I prefer

this Flipper over Soi 8 because it's much more quiet.

I stayed in the new wing. Nice loom and bath, cleaning staff top notch, front desk sorta rude.

NO IN LOOM SAFE. NO FREE WI-FI

I think, for the money, there is better out there.

I stayed there 2 weeks last October/November. Emailed them earlier and got Deluxe room from new C wing 1440 including breakfast.

No in room safe (first I was a little bit worried but there was no problems at the end and managed just fine without it) and wifi was not free of charge. Balcony also facing Soi 7 so a little bit noice from Rolling stone bar and from Anna jet until 3am approx.

Those were only things I didnt like, otherwise the hotel was just perfect, PERFECT. Location, rooftop pool, breakfast, staff, new rooms, balcony, bathroom, everything great.

I used to stay there all the time but I think that the place has become too popular and the attitude of the staff has changed.

I still think that the location is great and that new wing offers great value for money but last time I got annoyed by the staff asking for tips! They are all friendly and I would go back there but my current favourite is August Suites which is only a couple of minutes walk away.

the front desk are rude. they tried to sting my mate for 500bht as we checking out saying he burned carpet cause he was a smoker, it was his first time in pattaya aswell, so i spoke to reception about the problem and demanded to see the manager, they said manager not available then started giving me shit saying it was none of my business, so i said well the room carpet problem is none of their business then as they are only receptionists and not management then said ok 300bht, i said no he is not paying anything, we are leaving if you have a problem with that then call the tourist police. we walked out and nothing was said after that.

Thomas1974,

I see now that the picture you posted was not one you've taken but was actually copied from the flipper website. So how close was the actual room to the photo? I'd imagine the real room had a bit more wear and tear.

The room looked actually exactly as the picture!

But I think they have suites that look a little different?

It´s the new C-wing.

I've been in the Flipper House 1 time and it was very nice.

However, I prefer the Flipper Lodge because it is closer to

the beach side of the road and on soi 8. :GoldenSmile1:

It depends. I'd rather stay around the soi 10 area because Soi Lk and Soi 8 are with in walking distance and they're pretty much the same distance, add a few extra meters and you're at soi 7. To me it just seems much more easier to get around town from there. But if its only between Soi 7 and Soi Diana then I'd have to go with Soi 7. FYI I'm basing my answer off of the area I'm most familiar with. I'll have to explore LK Metro some more in May, you know, for research purposes. The things I put myself through for my fellow BM's :GrinNod1:

I would rather stay in the soi 7 area. I stayed in the soi Diana area last time and it wasn't worth it.

The pros of staying there are: cheap rooms (just 500B for a room at Robin's Nest), pretty good bars/gogos nearby like Oasis.

The cons are: its kinda far from Walking Street. You have to risk your life each time by crossing 2nd road to get to the baht bus, then gotta take a long bus ride around the monument to finally get to WS. With a place like Flipper Lodge, you just walk to the end of the soi and the baht bus will take you to WS in 1-2 minutes. The baht bus is much more convenient on soi 7. Also, there are many many more bars in the soi 7 and 8 area than Soi Diana area. The hotels are more expensive on soi 7, but only by 200B or so.

I was just looking at their web site site. They do a pick up and drop of to the airport for 2400bht return.

Has any one used it? it looks like a good deal.

Book a taxi through P.T. Taxi service or something instead. 1000b to Pattaya, 900b return.

I've used them 4 times without any hickups.
