3 hotels in mind/newbie

I have narrowed down my hotel search to 3, page10, Pattaya Bay Resort and the Billabong. As a newbie which is the better and what are the pros and cons of each?

anyone?

Stayed at the Billabong for a few days. Nice well run place with plenty of girls working for the bar. It is right in the heart of LK Metro where ther are plenty of bars, establishments like Devils Den and Lolitas and two good Gogo's The Office and Champaigne right on your doorstep so plenty of action. It is in essence a bar with large good quality rooms not a hotel. There are not the facilities that would be expected from the hotel such as a pool or room service, and if you bring a girl back from another bar or Gogo you will have to endure the looks from the girls in the bar should that bother you. I have some photos of the room I will post in a few days.

The upside is that the cost will probably less than half the price of the other two which are hotels I think I paid about £16 - £18 for a superior room but you will have to check their website.

I know Page 10 is a boutique hotel, new and should be Around £30 pn. The other one PBR i believe is an older hotel which may run out a bit cheaper.

All are central so you would be approximately half way from Walking street in one direction and Soi 6 the other way.

All have websites by the way - check them out.

Hope this helps.

When is your trip? I haven't stayed at any of the hotels you have listed but I am booked into Page 10 the first week of April and can report back then.

As for the best it all depends what you are looking for. All three are in a good locations,

Billabong - doesn't have a pool but is smack bang in the middle of Soi LK Metro which has same very good bars and Devils Den on the Soi I would also imagine that Billabong would be the cheapest of the three.

Pattaya Bay Resort - There has been so many write ups on this place do a search and you will find heaps of info. I had a look at a room last year and while it was clean I like something a bit more upmarket, again the location is very handy being only a few minutes walk to Second Rd and Soi Bukhow and LK Metro. It does have a pool.

Page 10 - Very new compared with the others the most expensive of the three but looks very nice, has a roof top pool and again location is good Soi 10.

Do yourself a favour and if you haven't had a look at the hotels websites do so it will give you a good idea of what you can expect also use the search function on PA there is a lot of info on Billabong and Pattaya Bay Resort and a couple a very good threads about Page 10

All of the above is correct.

I have stayed at the Billabong and Pattaya Bay Resort.

There is a difference is price between the two,but when you take into consideration that

the PBR offers breakfeast for two in their price and the smallish pool it may

represent better value to you, depending what season you travel in!

I found the rooms at PBR a bit smallish and the air/con gave me a sore throat.

The Billabong was also good, although a bit dated,it's smack bang in the middle of the action and it's a 24hr bar.

When I stayed there I bar fined one the girls there and she was with me for a total of 12 days on and off.

When I bought some else back to my room she was not happy, but I got around it.

I have a limited budget when I travel to Patts so I now stay somewhere else.

I still hang out at the Billabong with my LT TG as she likes the music there, pool table and they make a good

Gin and Tonic. If it was my preference it would be the Billabong.

BTW the host Gerg is a laid back guy,the girls are great and you can sit on the sofa and watch the world go by.

Cheers

thanks guys,im leaning towards page 10, it just looks the nicest of the 3 and I dont care about the extra cost, one worry though is that I heard that theres a limit to the amount of girls you can bring back

location location location..for me, billabong every time.

Look at Soi 13. Inn House, Whitehouse Condotel, Lek Hotel. Great location easy stroll to walking street, quick return from beach walk with freelancer

if thats of interest.

I had the same dilema before booking & like you wanted a really nice hotel & new

Tossed & turned and decided page 10 aswell just a bit of advise though book through the hotels own website, You seem to get a better rate than all the hotel sites like agoda & asia rooms.

also book the room for 2 people & your lady friend will also get breakfast as well , doesnt seem to make a diffrence to the price.

I also asked about joining fee & the hotel assured me there wasnt a fee for your 'local friend'

When are you going

December 17 2011 ....... The day Pattaya will be invaded by THE_GUN

After much trolling around I've booked View Talay 6 with Tik and www.dancewatchers.com, at 1800B/night it compares well with most in that area

over Songkran. (arrive 9/4, check out 18/4 then over to Jomtien with family for another week)

For a newbie you cant go wrong in LK Metro. Walk out of the Billibong you have Lolitas 10 meters away and in the other direct same distance Devils Den. You also have numerous Bars and GoGO's all in crawling distance. The other good thing about staying in a Guesthouse you will probably meet more fellow mongers to hang out and get advice/tips from

I'm possibly just going to confuse the issue, but if I was you I'd be adding LK Renaissance onto your list.

I'm on day 5 of my second trip and have just moved into one of dancewatchers rooms at View Talay 6, which is also very good, but possibly not ideal for a newbie. The previous 4 nights I spent at LK Renaissance, same as my first trip in November last year. Both times the place worked really well for me.

I took the same room I eventually had on my first trip, room 2306, a Deluxe room on the same floor as the pool. I also had a one bedroom suite there, but found the design just a little awkward, whereas the Deluxe was good. Saved a 1000 a night too.

Soi Dianna location is very very hard to beat. Walk in minutes to LK Metro and daytime GoGos, beer bars across the road, MegaBreak (underrated pool-hall with surprisingly good freelancers ) is opposite.

Page 10 does look good however, but for me, as a newbie like you, I went with LK and liked it enough to go back. I also stayed at August Suites my first trip. No doubt August Suites is an excellent hotel, but for me, the LK location is the winner.

I'm just not a guest-house guy, so ruled out any of them. I want a pool and comfort.

Cheers,
