Flights are booked I'm on my way in August for 25 days, can't wait. I've decided to book the Pattaya Bay Resort for my stay as it has a good rep on here. I'm going to book a Deluxe Room.

For the guys that have stayed there before can you advise me, any Deluxe Rooms to avoid (noise, view, etc)? Which rooms or side of the hotel should I ask for to be facing the sun? I'd like a seat on balcony seeing sun go down.

Thanks for any help.

I always requested to have a room at the back of the PBR - looks a bit like a disorganised jungle down below but is ultra quiet (no road, constuction etc). Plus if your getting a delux room i think they're on the seventh floor so there shouldn't be any comings & goings noise from the lobby either.

Walls are a little thin so if you've got a full on shagfest next door that could be a noise issue..

None of the rooms get much sun and the ones facing the 'jungle' get none. People don't tend to stay at the PBR for the romantic views!! If you're getting a deluxe room you'll be on the 6th or 7th floor and there aren't many rooms. I expect you'll have to take what you're given. Great monger's hotel though.

Sunsets can be observed on the "back" side of the hotel (as you are standing, facing the receptionist, the rooms you want will be in front of you, and up...lol.) Over the years, I have had looms on both sides of the hotel and on floors 4-7...all were great stays...and though many complain of thin walls, I have never been bothered by noise except when they added the 2nd elevator and they were setting the pilings...but that entire project is long ago complete.

Enjoy your stay...I might see you there!

Cheers, Alex

You can go up to the rooftoppool for watching the sun going down. I liked the wiew from the jungle side rooms.

Don't know if I'm misunderstanding Alex here, but if you're facing

the reception, surely the sun sets behind you, i.e. at the front of

the hotel?

Here's a picture of what little sunset you might be able to see.

Taken from the 5th floor on what I would call the "front" of the

hotel. Lots of buildings blocking your view.

Great hotel, already booked for april and august this year. :)
