Hospitals forging test results

Experienced mongers,

 

I have been living in Thailand for about 18 months and am wondering if anyone has ever heard stories or knows of hospitals forging/faking the results of HIV tests, ie knowing a girl is +ve but giving her a -ve result because she pays the doctor off so she can work somewhere or whatever. Obviously there is alot of corruption in the police force and im guessing corruption of this kind in hospitals is alot less common. Anyone have any experiences of this kind?

only second hand but a friend in bkk says it's common for "sick" girls to pay doctor for clean sheet, depends on the individual girl I suppose. have also heard that the tests the girls commonly take are not for HIV but for other STD's, suppose it just reinforces the condom message.

I think unfortunately there is a fair likelihood of some test forgery occurring. Corruption is a fact of life in Thailand. I'd still rather go with a girl that has been tested than not but ultimately there is no escaping the fact you have to wear a condom every time.
