Here Here. Exactly my outlook too. I avoid the men as much as possible. I drink in bars in Soi Chaiyaphum and Soi Diana, not a Thai man in sight. Just mamasan and the gals in the bar. I dont like those fucking ugly pimps around me, so I avoid the bastards.

 

But there are ways to prevent much of these bar bill disputes. As someone already said - always check your bill when you order another. make sure you understand how much gals drinks cost and how many you are ordering. Always have small money on you - avoid going to bars with 1000Bt notes, buy some gum in the 7-11 and break your big notes. That way you don't have to worry about change much, you can pay the bill and fuck off.

OK I agree with that. I've had disputes over bills before, I dont shout and get angry just try to iron it out. I agree try to keep out of trouble, Thais are violent bastards when they get wound up, no need to stir up a hornets nest. But I won't allow a Thai or anyone to cheat me, if they fucking me over i have a mobile and will phone the tourist police. I've never done that yet so don't know if that would help much, but i can't see any asshole whacking you with a pool que when there are tourist police in the premises.

this is a reason i have a thai bodyguard/escort/friend with me most of the time

i dont have to deal with any shit

Its a tragic story, but not at all unexpected. It amazes me how many times people let their principles and Liquid courage put them in bad and often painful situations. I know you're a man and have pride that you have to defend, but I would rather you post here about how you're pissed you got scammed instead of reading about you getting beaten or killed over it. SE Asian guys will hurt you for no reason at all, it doesn't help if you give them a reason to hate you more than they already do.

I once tried this when a Thai guy was kicking the shit out of another guy who was already knocked out but was stopped by my girl .

2 other guys stepped in and in less then 10 seconds they where outnumbered and got beaten up as well by Thai guys coming from

everywhere .

Taxidrivers , shop owners , pimps , foodcartowners , ect .

Thais get crazy when there's a fight and they don't understand when it's enough .

If by 'step in' you mean throwing punches I'd advise against it. I have managed to talk Thais out of doing further damage before but it needs a careful and non threatening approach. Also helps if you are known by them ie you've drunk there before and they recognise you.

Try soi 6/1. Most of the 'lads' down there are pretty handy when it comes to the crunch. They charge by the hour though but the upside is they look a lot prettier than your average bodyguard!
