I plan to be in Pattaya in July (4 weeks) and wonder which hotel gives best value for money.

Natural Beach hotel is a dump

I have stayed in The Haven on occasions and was very content so I will definitely give them my business again.

The restaurant is affordable too!

I've stayed at both and liked both. The Natural beach has lock boxes at reception, the Haven safes in the room. I like the Haven a bit more but Natural Beach has a side entrance during the day to about 7 or 8pm where you can bring girls to your room without going thru reception. I like that a lot. They are friendly but I always feel self concious after the 3rd or 4th girl. Haven you have to walk thru the restaurant and everyone is watching you not that they care. They are modest hotels good on a budget.

An additional point they are both great locations if you like to step out late at night and grab a quick girl off Beach Rd.

How about the room quality and swimming pool?

Natural Beach has a pool sort of but NEVEr saw anyone in it and never heard a good thing about the pool. The Haven has a pool and I've used it, nothing special, seems to get limited use but it is OK and on the small side. It probably won't be the pool you take your girl to as it is overlooked by the restaurant.

 

Room quality is ok, basic but they have what I look for refrig, AC and decent TV. The bathroom in the last room I had at the Haven could have used a little work.

I stayed at the Haven recently. The rooms were nice enough, old but repainted, nice bathroom and the surroundings are plesant. l really can't say it's worth the price though there are many other places with better value. The staff were distant, basically preoccupied with running the restaurant which l never ate in, but it did look good. Every morning the noise from the staff in the restaurant woke me up around 8 AM without fail. l asked another guest about this and he said he wasn't bothered by this, l admit l can be a light sleeper. Anyhow after 3 days l checked out early.

I last stayed at the Natural 8 years ago and it was a shithole then and an even bigger shithole now.
