I wonder if anyone can recommend an inexpensive but decent hotel close to soi 7 & 8. By inexpensive I mean max. 500-600 THB per night.

Look no further than Globetrotter!

50 m from beachroad and 10 m from soi 7, excellent accomodation for less money and runned by a swedish guy who is a great host.

The restaurant is one of the best in Patts too with all scandinavian newspapers availible daily!

I checked out the Globetrotter Hotel and it does indeed look attractive, with reasonable prices. However, it does not have a lift which I think is desirable, because of a certain kind of pain that I get sometimes!
