With the ongoing conflict I could imagine it could cause some difficulties to get to the Thai/Cambodian border?

Anyone know any updated news from the visarun agencies?

It hasn't affected the usual crossing points in the past, though the agencies would know for certain and will advise you when you book.

Thai-Cambodia Border Close as Conflicts Continue

The Army Region 2 announced last night that the Thai-Cambodian border in some areas will be shut down indefinitely.

The Thai Army Region 2 announced the closure of the Thai-Cambodian border in the areas of Sakaeo, Sisaket, Surin, Trad, and Chanthaburi provinces last night, specifically at the chong jom, prasat ta kway and prasat ta muan tom border points. Merchants there have been left in a state of uncertainty and are evacuating from the border trade area.

Currently, many stores in the Surin province and Siamrath province are closed, with many schools like the Ban Darn school in the Karb Cherng district shut down as well, with no reopening date set yet. Administrative officers are prepared to evacuate all citizens in the border areas.

Other border points remain open, but have stringent checkpoints in place.

At Poipet ยเปต) border crossing, there has been a large decline in the number of traders and workers entering the popular Rong Kluea market, with roughly 200-300 people coming through per day.

One merchant said she feels uncertain about entering the Rong Kluea market in the early morning, and would want to assess the situation before ordering new products to sell in the area.

In Trad province, the border area is experiencing a large decline in the number of people crossing over to gamble at the famous casino there. Group tours are canceling their trips as well.

For the ports exporting to Cambodia and Vietnam, specifically the Chalalai, Krittawan, and the Kalapangha port, there has been a decline in buying and selling there as well.

Meanwhile, the border at Chanthaburi seems less effected where people are still crossing to buy instant foods and other commodities.

Any updates on this thread?

I just call 1st Class and Five Star and both said you can get the 60 day double entry at the border that is 4 hours from Pattaya, but it may take longer than usual and the customer must pay the extra nights in the hotel. I dread the 20 hour van trip to Laos and thinking about taking the risk to Cambodia. Any thoughts from BM's ?

There must be someone who's been through the border (or not lol) Had Lek to Koh Kong this past week?

I need to go somewhere in the next week or so and I was half thinking (with my half a brain) of a nice little bike ride. :Circle_Sharks:

I went to a border a few days ago, it was between si saket and sa kaew, probably one of the worst borders to go to. There was no foreigners passing through and I only seen a few cambodians passing through. Then on the cambodian side i had to get them to open up the visa office for me... then I tried to get lots of expensive wine, but most of the traders have took the expensive stuff away from the area.

Everyone was fine and relaxed, no problems at all. They did say that there was still fighting up the road occasionally!

Choam border, highly recommend, hassle free and fast, no visa coaches

    • For those that don't know, I did Friday meetings before many years ago,  I feel like we are missing a regular meeting for members,  I am aware guys meet at PA affiliated bars. But I want to start meeting people again, I'm inviting the guys following my YouTube also.

The meetings is a chance to get to meet each other,  I plan to be at every meeting, I also have Dean from Dive bar that has offered to help out with a crawl after.
The meetings will be  Monday  6 pm - 8 pm each week.  (The improvised bar crawl will commence at 8 p.m.  Dean will make his own plans for that.)

Due to low numbers of people in town, I will start the meetings in our bars to help our girls and managers, please check back often incase things are changed.  I will be sharing the love around town later, but Soi 6 is first on my list (including bars that are friendly competition)
If bar owners want us to have a meeting at their bar,  they need to have a minimum of 10 girls.  I'm not dragging people to empty bars for favours.
Please help us invite other members, it takes a while to get momentum.
Monday 6 pm - 8pm  (then bar crawl after)
      21st March - Playpen Soi 6
28th March - Night wish bar Soi 6
4th April - Toy Box bar Soi 6
      11th April - Repent Soi 6
18th April - where angels play Soi 6
25th April -  (next bar we have open)

2nd May - (next bar we have open)
      9th May - Cooters bar soi 6
16th May - Hot shots bar Soi 6
23rd May - (next bar we have open)
      30th of May - Lust soi 6
      6th of June - Illuzion
13th of June - (next bar we have open)

I look forward to meeting people again.
