Not usually a place you'd look for freelancers... might be able to find some around the markets but they're probably more interested in eating/shopping than picking up customers

I have stayed at LK Metro three times now and I have not seen any freelancers in that back Soi Diana/LK Metro area. Most of the girls are working at the bars, and since most of them are open air, I would imagine that they would run off any competition loitering about.

 

With that said, you can walk 3 minutes to the end of LK Metro and find yourself at one of those outdoor bar complexes. There are freelancers working on the corners and at the bars. I happened to get a freelancer there one night. I offered to pay her 1,500 short time (I generally don't bargain much) and she didn't hesitate. We went back to the room on LK Metro and she was happy to have a nice room with air conditioning and stayed the whole night for the same price.

 

I would say that freelancers would not be that hard to find if you walk around the corner from LK or Diana, but probably not right there. You can also try Soi Honey which is right behind LK but it doesn't really have freelancers either. The good news is that there are many laid back bars in the that area that have barfines of around 400 baht, so you could do much worse.

 

Don't know if this helps much. I will be going back there in the middle of March and I can take a better look.

Assume the OP mean FL from the street. Papagayo charge and outragous BF even for the FL picked there.

It's rather easy to spot a TWG and simply asking one in the street if she has time can be a good pick up line.

Also a good way to piss off girls who are no longer working bar (my ex would give me daily updates on the guys that had hit on her around soi buakhao), trying to do their shopping, visiting friends etc. The girls know where to go if they want to find a customer, and they do have actual lives the rest of the time.

I have stayed in the LK Metro / Soi Chaipoon during my last 5 trips & I can guarantee there are plenty of girls (& a few LB's) looking for business on the street & of course in the many smallish bars in that area, including Soi Lengkee & Soi Honey.

 

Of course, as Devil's Plaything has previously commented, there are also numerous ladies going about their own peronal business.

 

I find that if you act decently, smile & respond to "Where you go?", you will get offers. This part of my last TR refers to one chance encounter, & I was not looking for a companion, just going for a walk after saying goodbye a fab ST with a WS Go-Go stunner:

For such a relatively large area Diana, Bukhaow, Chiayapoon and Lenkee etc really do not get a lot of coverage on the forum with regards to trip reports and this is such a shame as everything you need is in these areas so no need to leave really.

stand outside 711 late at night they approach you -where you go? seems to be their standard pick up line. Personally I would rather pay 300 baht bar fine and get to choose a girl I like the look of and has a positive attitude.

Chat at a bar - get to know them a little - find out what you are getting for your money - well worth 300 baht in my opinion - better to choose the girl rather than they choose you.

Never been robbed or ripped off by a girl after several hundred bar fines - only tried freelancers a few times and had one go through my wallet - may just be a coincidence but I have my doubts. They just seem to be less accountable to me.

Just walk around in the soi, sidesois, go into the shops, eating places. All day and night, you will just ''bump'' into them. If you see a bird u like, just smile at her and see her reaction, and then , well up to you...

 

That's the beauty of the buakhau area, alot of bargirls living there, so alot of bargirl traffic along the soi.

 

Buakhao is also very central located in the bar area of pattaya.

I've been accosted by freelances walking on Soi Diana. It is unusual, but I've run into it.

 

Usually it has been a woman blocking my path, smiling and asking 'where you go?'

 

I'm sure it is possible to walk the area, smile and make eye contact and meet a new friend. I've also got friends that have made a new friend or two on the Soi Buekow baht bus. I would assume the standard ST rate (500B). If she asks for more, walk.

 

But I expect you are better off just walking to beach road.

Since most ladies come from Isaan say "baw ow" - "baw" is "no" in Lao - you'll get a surprised look from them!

I agree with another poster there are FL's on Buakow/LK Metro but I'd rather go to a beer bar and talk to girls to check their attitude and pay 300 BF as insurance. I don't recommend taking an FL to your room unless everything of value is locked away. I haven't taken a Pattaya FL for years I just go to Soi 6 plenty of women to choose from and no worries about losing valuables.

I got offered ST twice during the day in Soi Buakow the other afternoon once in an internet cafe and once outside the Subway.

That's why I love Pattaya.
