Spent an hour in the blues factory on soi lucky star last night. If you like rock music this is the place to come. Unlike many of the other venues you don't have to listen to competing music coming from the surrounding bars, cos this is a purpose built indoor club with great acoustics. http://www.thebluesfactorypattaya.com/contact_us.html

Recommended even if a beer is 120 or so..

Last time I went to the Blues FAct was in October,I found the American owner ?/Larger guy seemed to be arrogant to audience members.

He sounds like He s American which he is and another American wanted a song requested,"lay down Sally"well the American owner spoke to him what i thought was in a abrupt way, telling the American tourist guy, that requests were on a Sunday evening only !

Just the way he spoke to him I thought was rude, anyway the lady up on stage with him,Filipino lady ,I think knew he was being rude and said they would play the song anyway.

The larger American owner seemed to be shocked and went on and on about how this would be the last time etc etc.

I visited a few times in just Dec/Jan and it's all got a bit loud for me. Sort of lost the intamcy that the place used to have. I'll go again for sure but for me, it's not what it was a couple of years ago.

My Pattaya budget is perfectly adequate as long as I don't spend any of it

I think you will find the owner is not American, he's just the singer LOL, the owner is a board member on here and a nice guy, many of us frequent the Blues Factory for its great music, I've seen idiots go up to the performers when they are playing and request songs, maybe this was the case?

The American is the band leader, sorry if he appeared arrogant, he does come across that way sometimes.

Sundays is a jam session where customers can request other songs and play with the band but nevertheless I have told them that if its a reasonable song request that the band know and it fits in with the theme of the night etc then they should do it, he is very set in his ways with his blues but i have told them to widen the variety a bit.

Thanks for the feedback and the nice comments.

The Rock side of things does get a bit loud at times. Sorry if it spoilt your visit.

Really looking forward to visiting here in June, big Rory Gallagher and Gary Moore fan, I've heard nothing but good things about Lam Morrison.

A BG from Soi 8 Rolling Stones bar recommended the Blues Factory to me, I'll check it out soon for sure (and maybe bring her too).

If she aint whoring she's boring!

It's nice to be nice :)
