Any Americans ever buy airline vouchers via Ebay or anywhere to offset flight costs?

I'm researching airfare right now for a planned upcoming trip in November time frame and the best I can find from LAX to BKK is around $1,000 give or take. I know when your flight is canceled here domestically or if you get bumped from a flight you get free credits (Ranging from $100 off to a few hundred) off of future flights on that airline. Many people then sell these vouchers on Craigslist or Ebay at a discount. Does anyone have experience in purchasing these for companies such as Delta or whomever that also fly international...

No experience with it but I would be really nervous about it.

 

 

Your best prices are gonna show up between 90 and 100 days before departure most likely. it's still a bit early for the great bargains for your time frame.

Yeah, definitely be careful - a lot of scams out there. If it seems to good to be true it probably is.
