I have a question about booking in advance.

I'm planning to rent a room from the end of march for several months.

However, I'd like to take a look at the room before booking, and I fear that all the good rooms will be busy if I don't book with at least one month in advance. I want a good room in the Soi Honey area.

I got one from a farang owner for 14000B/month, with everything I need. I was aiming for 12000B, but it's ok 2000B/month is almost nothing compared to what I'll spend on whoring.

I'm almost booking it in advance, but I really hope to not regret that (e.g. finding an even better room for 12000B).

What do you guys think? Book in advance a room that I like or risk trying to find something there in the last minute?

My thoughts exactly.

So many good options to look at and bargain like no breakfast and seeing a room that you'll be for next month is big plus than reserving upfront without knowing which room you'll get.

Also this way you can also visit other cities - why being all the time just in Pattaya.

Leave yourself options by booking when you want, where you want.

Actually I have two weeks already booked in a very good room near Soi LK Metro. Then I will spend 8 days in Bangkok, and after that I'll be back in Patts and rent a room for long term.

It means I'll have plenty of time (mid-march) to look at the rooms.

Well, if there are many good options, probably avaliable due to low season, I may get a good bargain. And yes I plan to take like 4 or 5 days every month to visit other places (Chiang Mai, Phi Phi, Ubon)

Tks for the tips guys.

Never book or pay upfront. First go have a look and maybe a trial for a few days if possible. Plenty of decent accomodation. Just go well prepared and make a list with usefull info of your preferrable accomodations when going to Pattaya!

I will stay on this one for 2 weeks: http://www.pattaya-addicts.com/forum/topic/24432-rooms-above-the-new-chow-soy-restaurant/

After that, I will go Bangkok for a little more than one week and then will be back in Pattaya for a long term rent.

I'm sorry, I don't know much about other places. If you really want a hotel, I stayed at Pattaya Bay Resortin september for less than 1000B/day, but it was the low season. But it's definitely a good hotel, I recommend it.

Seems to me that you will not better your 1st 2 week accomodation, best value for money I've seen around that area! Why not try for a long stay discount there? :GoldenSmile1:

Well, I'll be sure to give it a try, but I don't think I'll get it much lower than 15000B/month. This place seems to be always busy.
