Baywalkresidince was my first choice, but fully booked.

now looking at Citin Loft

and Pattaya Bay Resort

i don't care much for walking

getting back from WS to hotel, i read after baht-bus drops you another 10 minutes walk. Better to get a taxi from WS or from soi 7/8? How much would taxi cost?

has anyone stayed in both Citin Loft and PBR?

which one would you recommend?

any other suggestions are welcome

Budget maximum 1800 baht

required : in room safe-deposit

I stay at Citin Loft and Baywalk, 2 good hotels, room larger at Citin but pool better at Baywalk, other good choice, August and April suites.

I've stayed at PBR a couple of times, and thoroughly enjoyed each time.

From 2nd Rd, it is only a two minute walk through the Avenue Complex to get to the Hotel. I usually used motor bike taxis because I'm a lazy git!! :D

There is a free tuk tuk to either 2nd Rd or Soi Buakhow.

I've not stayed at Citin Loft, so I can't give any comparisons. All I would say is that PBR is an excellent hotel with free breakfast (before 11.00am), a clean pool, good food,

and of course room safe. Obviously it is girl friendly. All rooms have a good sized balcony and quality remote control air con.

Hope that helps

The PBR requires minimal walking. The free 24-hour tuk-tuk will drop at 2nd Road, or it's 3 minutes through the Avenue Mall.

Great monger's hotel.

I've stayed in Citin Loft last year, June/July 2010. In general I was pretty satisfied about this hotel. About 5 months prior to my arrival I've booked a "superior king room" via their website and used their "early bird promotion" for which I've paid 1169 Thai Baht per night including breakfast, taxes and charges. The breakfast buffet isn't huge, but well enough. Some staff will bake you an egg if you ask for it. Citin Loft is girlfriendly (no joiner fee) but they will ask for the girls ID. The staff is friendly as well, the hotel has 2 elevators and a covered swimmingpool in front of the lobby. Good enough if you want to cool down.

Citin Loft is located a little bit back in the streets between Soi 14 and Soi 12 at Pattaya Central Road (Pattaya Klang). See Google maps. Since I don't mind walking it never was a problem for me. It takes about 10 minutes walking to the junction of Second Road and Central Road. At this junction, you can take bahtbusses (songthaews) to anywhere in Pattaya. To the beach it takes about 15 minutes walking. The location of Citin Loft is quiet, which I really appreciated for sleeping.

A 1000 Thai Baht deposit needs to be payed at check-in. You will get it back when you check-out, of course if nothing is missing and everything is OK. Their sharpest price for a stay in June/July 2011 is 1250 Thai Baht per night including breakfast, taxes and charges.

Here's a list of the superior king room facilities:

- the superior king room is huge

- big kingsize bed

- perfect adjustable airconditioning

- nice flatscreen tv with a lot of channels

- big refrigerator (put the drinks of the hotel aside and stuff with your own)

- daily 2 small bottles of water (free)

- free wifi inside the room (didn't use)

- electronic safe inside the closet

- nice balcony with 2 wooden chairs and dito small table

- bathroom with shower and bathtub (no handheld shower)

- earsticks, soaps and shower caps (for the girls)

- 2 bathrobes inside the closet

- 2 pairs of slippers

- 1 umbrella inside the closet

- 2 computers in the lobby for free to use

- free tuktuk service to Tops Supermarket (junction Second Road and Central Road)

I hope this information helps...

I stayed Citin Loft for 1 month in December. Staff were great and the rooms were also great but there were more downsides than upsides

The wifi never worked (Seen this on other reviews over a long time.

The bedding was worn and the duvet cover not always changed daily (They stretch the cover to give impression it is changed).

The bathrooms sometimes smell bad and hot water can be hit and miss

The staff were excellent but often cannot get anything done for you if there is a problem.

The rooms are great but I was lucky to get a super cheap deal with an online promotion. I would not see it as good value on normal promotion prices.

Hope that helps

I've noticed in other hotels that room maids "only stretch the cover sheet, to give the impression it's changed". However, there's a simple solution for that. "Just ask" to change the bedsheets, if you notice that it's not been changed while staying a few days already. I know that this (mostly) will be done in the 4- and 5-star hotels, but I know also that this is a way to save money for the hotel. If you ask politely to change your bedsheets, it will be done.
