Just a thought what goes to happen with the the bread section when Carrefour goes closing and Big C steps in, it happens to be one of few places to find reasonable bread &bakery stuff, sandwiches , "French Bread" if it s coming like at Tesco then get used to the "elastic "version from bread :o ,not crunchy at all.

No Farang bakery people never gave it a thought to start Pattaya branch... ?? :GoldenSmile1:

Is it definitely going Big C?

Someone working at Tesco South told me Tesco were taking it and maybe Tesco North would close.

Could be rubbish of course.

Not sure, it's one of the very few places you can get decent bread in Pattaya. I love the prik geng (red curry paste) they have at Carrefour, I will be very disappointed if that is discontinued.

they would be stupid to change to only Thai products , as there you can read at least "some" products content , also the surroundings losing an argument to rent or buy condo "5 minutes walk ,10 minutes walk to..carrefour " by real estates ..

PS : by example , try to find Tomato Puree at Tesco or Big C ..... :Anger: Fresh marketVT1 have it :Number1a:

If you contact your bank in Belgium they can extend the use of it.

It changed hands 1st January, and they are starting to re-brand 64 stores, it will be shame, but Foodland is just up the road, and what i like about that place is all the greens and herbs are labled in English, this helps a lot if your following a receipt, not seen that anywhere else.

I will miss the bakery, maybe the French guy that works there will set his own up

THE"Official" reason is that the reading is with magnetic stripe mostly , and banks for reason of security are stepping over to "Chip enabled" verification , your country HOlland is proceeding now to change the ATM , and Outside Europe country's should be reading only with Magnetic strip , Even Canada China & USA are for them considered " unsafe" and they are promoting Credit cards instead ..... witch is BS reason as ALSO those cards are being readied by Magnetic strip ....... (Banks pushing to CCards (more profitable then Debet Cards ,with lower whit drawl money limits even )

Bangkok bank is for the moment the only one in TH. who have a few Chip enabled ATM's

Belgium is dreadfully enough the first to be equipped with generally Chip enabled money dispensers.

As for them they have a procedure to demand re-activating for limited period the maestro on request an fill in some forms to become that (this only as a result of a big number of protests in media )

Holland shall become so , but is not yet now, 2011 changing on it
