Koh Samui VS Koh Chang

My next trip to Thailand will be for about 4 weeks of which I'm planning 1 week Pattaya 2 weeks elsewhere then the last week back in Pattaya

Which would be the better place to spend 2 weeks in between stays at Pattaya, Koh Samui or Koh Chang? it's in June

It depends what you are after during that interim period.

 

My personal choice for pure relaxation would be Koh Chang. Compared to Samui the island is less developed although that is changing. Two weeks is a long time on Koh Chang although there are plenty of other smaller islands to explore, especially if you are into diving.

 

Koh Samui has more in the way of the all round tourist package and girly bars should you not be exhausted post Pattaya.

Agree with Leadpencil. Koh Chang is a lovely place but I think you may start to get bored after a week. Personally i'm not a fan of Samui but each to their own.

I have the same problem for june ,Chang/samui/snooky but I will wait till I am about to leave

to check out the weather the dry spot will win.first 9 days in Pattaya.

I also think that 2 weeks is very long.

 

You could for example spend 1 week in Ko Chang, then take a plane from Trat to Samui, spend the second week there, and go back to Pattaya by plane.

 

Or you can go to Samui by plane from U-Tapao, spend a week there, then go by ferry to Ko Tao for some days, then reach Hua Hin by ferry+bus, and go back to Pattaya either by minibus, or with the new ferry line : http://www.thailivingferry.com

Thanks for the imput.... I over planned my last trip so at this stage I'm thinking of leaving the final call until the morning I leave Pattaya....My priorities are going to be good company, a beach to run on and a tan.....just chill and enjoy the enviroment.....
