This is a good site for checking all the airlines prices.

 

It is a website of ITA software they are a specialist software company that supplies software for leading airline and travel companies and was acquired last year by Google.

 

This is worth checking out if you are looking for the best fares. (where it says sales city just enter your own countries capital and the fares come up in your own currency)

Good job I already booked a flight with Jet Airways for £514 from London,

 

it's already up to £587 in under a month, that equates to about 3 additional LT's for me

I just had a go but it came out quite a lot more expensive than other sites. Maybe it is just finding rack rates rather than brokers discounted rates?

Is this a link to your, or someone you knows, personal travel site? This looks suspiciously similar to the website people use when they are trying to run their own travel business.

Your right it scrapes the airline sites to find the best prices you can't book from this site. What it does is give you an idea of when the best dates to fly.

 

For instance I just entered Lon to Bkk 1st Feb for 21 days it then gave me the whole of February Etihad was £448, Air India £462, and about 20 other airlines.

 

I then went to the Etihad website and could have booked the flight, though it was £449 not £448 as the matrix said.

 

It is basically a tool to use when booking flights as it allows you to check a complete month to find the best price the airlines are offering using any number of parameters you want return, one way, multiple departure airports, non stop etc.etc. Then once you know that it pays to search the travel agencies using the best dates. Sometimes you will find a better price on an agents website other times the airline itself could be cheaper.

No I have nothing to do with this site at all.

 

The company that runs it is owned by Google and there is no way that I can see that anyone is making money from it as you can't book anything nor are there any links to take you to any of the airlines.

 

It probably looks similar because they make the software most of the travel companies and airlines use.

 

I just happened to come across it and though it might be of interest to some of the members

Edit; I have just found this on the website " On July 1, 2010, ITA Software and Google, Inc. announced that they signed a definitive agreement for Google to acquire ITA for $700 million in cash, subject to adjustments." So I wish it was mine unfortunately it isn't.
