Hi guys i will be over in bkk and patts from the 6 feb to the 3 march,

but with work being quiet i may stay a further week which would mean i

would overstay the 30 days allowed by 2-3 days.I don't see the point of

getting a 90 day tourist visa for such a sort overstay, but how much of

a fine would incur at immigration when i leave?

i believe it's 500 baht a day. but also read a topic a while ago that there going to clamp down on people over staying and just getting a fine. i think you can get an extension visa for a week (might be 2) for about 1500 baht.

not 100% sure it's just what ive heard

I work hard to support those on benefits! :Banghead2:

My flight arrives at 11:40 pm. One year I waited until after 12 to go through immigration thinking that would eat up one day. It didn't. I guess they figure once your plane lands your in Thailand. I went to Cambodia, not just for that, it just happened. If you get caught during those extra days not at airport, you would have real problems. There is an immigration office in Pattaya, if you want to sit in a crowded room with no air for hrs. Just contact the Royal Thai Embassy in your country, before you go and it's done.

On short overstay it seems to up to the imigration officer whether they fine you or not. Last year I arrived Thailand Dec 1st and left Dec 31st. I was escorted to the conters behind, passport stamped but no fine and the officer wished me happy new year.

I wouldn't count on same procedure if overstay more days and recommend you take a visa run or see immigration in Jomtioen or Bangkok.

At the moment visa's are free in australia maybe the same for you might be easier to just get one before you go for peace of mind.

if they catch you look forward to visiting the jail and being deported.

Show enough respect for Thailand to follow the immigration rules or stay home

The Immigration-office is 300-400 yards down soi-5, Jomtien, and was air-conditioned when I visited in November, for my 90-day reporting.

Thai tourist visa are not free from Sweden it costs 595 sek

plus the cost to send the papers to embassy in a recommended

letter. In all about $100 I think
