Internet speeds

As I am someone who knows nothing about PC's etc I need help/advice please.

 

I'm with Sophon Cable,been with them for over 2 months and never had any problems with the internet.

 

Last night I couldn't connect,it came up with wrong password for user domain (error 691).This morning I can get on but it seems slow so I ran a speedtest.

 

Here's the results

Download speed 90-95 kbps

Upload speed 56 kbps

Ping 964 ms

 

Are these ok or shite ? Any advice ?

Edit - asking EDGE about internet - funny or not?

 

Using adslthailand on my Hutch connection, i got

 

D/l 1181 kbps

U/l 111 kbps

Ping 305 ms

 

I re-tested and got similar except Ping was 250 ms, which I think is better.

Not nearly as shite as yours anyway lol.

 

In use it's OK, but not that good and if someone posts a lot of oversized pics on one page it takes ages (I give up usually).

I'm paying about 1k/month for unlimited.

There is no cable or phone line option here.

It got confusing because my a/c was in my Ex's name so I had to sign a new contract, so was it 5,900 or did I get it free - I can't remember. I got a laptop cooling pad free so maybe I didn't.

 

It isn't really a dongle, which I have one of if anyone wants one.

It's a stick with a micro SD card in it.

I was using a satellite signal last year on our fishing boat. After a 3 month time period out to sea..My internet bill was $4000usd. I decided to wait until i get to shore, before using the internet again. And it was super slow...took 5 mins for yahoo page to open up. This is out in the Bering Sea(Near Alaska). So during the heavy fishing months..ill be off the net..usually Jan-Feb,May-Jul, and Oct-Nov time frame.
