I normally fly from canada direct to bangkok, well as direct as is possible, but since I still have family in England I am looking to fly to Heathrow spend a week or so then fly to BKK, So for my UK brothers who are you flying with ? what on average are you paying ? and who are you booking through that's reliable ?

thank for any help

there are stacks that fly the route from London

cheapest to dearest would likely be

Jet Air

India Airways

Eva Air

Qatar air

Ethiad

Emirates

Thai

Quantas/BA

Thai Eva, Quantas/BA are all direct the others have a stopover, pricing obviously depends on the exact dates but around 500-600 GBP

Ive done 3 flight with eva, can't fault them. only about £50 more than the cheapest flight but it's direct and the flight times are good.

I work hard to support those on benefits! :Banghead2:

My first choice for a direct flight would be EVA and failing that Thai. EVA planes are newer and the service, in my experience, is impeccable. Some nice eye candy as well! :GoldenSmile1:

For good booking deals try www.kayak.com . Can create alerts to your email account so it updates you with best prices for chosen date / route / class etc.

If you are going from London then I have found Eva to be the best paid £535 for March 2011 direct flight.

I would only fly non-direct if they are alot cheaper and the stop overs were good.

Try emailing www.westeasttravel.co.uk or looking at www.travelsupermarket.com

I have also heard people saying that Qatar, Eithad, Emeriates and Oman are good airlines.

IF the direct flights, eva, thai airways and british airways are only about 50 quid more expensive than the ones with stopovers, its worth booking with them, less hassle and especially eva are very good service, never been with thai or ba though. aside from that, the best airline imho is jet airways, been with them 5 times and i think they are absolutely brilliant and nearly always the cheapest. in short, jet airways rocks!!!!!!!

i have only flown 2 times to bkk ,1 time with gulf air £405 return and this year with oman air £385 return ,both stop overs for 2 hours . the best thing about a stop over is ,on the way home i get 10 sleeves of cigerettes for around £9 a sleeve and sell them when home for £35 each and i got my next air fare almost coverd ,[if i did loose them in customs ,i would not worry ,after all its only £90, minus the one sleeve you are allowed back ,so only a £55 loss in the end , ] well worth the risk ,so to me i will book a stop over every time .
