That's so sad. A bar girl I was once knew very well committed suicide by hanging herself, she was just 21 years old. Pattaya can be a crazy place and there are plenty of casualties. God knows what some of them girls have to go through psychologically as well as physically, it's not always a party for everybody involved.

Jesus, Thai women and their broken hearts. This happens far too often here. It doesn't help any that the damned soap operas galmourise suicide fairly regularly, having the beautiful heroine top herself because her commode head of a boyfriend dumped her. A student at Assumption University around 9 years ago leapt from a window in the tallest building on campus because her BF had dumped her. It was the second suicide from that same window.

It's not like there was a shortage of Thai men around. :(

Now that I think about it, I remember a very pretty Patpong dancer who hanged herself 20 years back. She wasn't the usual BG type, came from a middle class family, had finished the full 12 years of school through Mattayom 6 and was quite intelligent. What on earth made her decided to dance nude in a bar and sleep with strangera? I enjoyed talking to her, since her English was far above the you-buy-me-cola level. A Farang who worked at the Bangkok Post was in love with her and wanted to marry her. She was flattered but told him no. One night my neighbour went to the bar and she recognised him. She asked him to thank the reporter for his kindness and said she appreciated it very much. The next day she committed suicide! The poor guy at the Post was beside himself, blaming himself for not stopping her. But she was determined and never even hinted at her reasons for it. Women are hard enough to figure out. Thai women can be unfathomable.

I can understand his reaction, when it happens you do wonder if there was anything you could have done? The girl that I knew hanged herself in 2005. She had a thing about me and would phone me multiple times a day from Thailand. One day I gently told her that if she didn't reduce the number of calls I would have to change my mobile phone number. A few weeks later I changed my number for another reason, I called her and spoke to her once when she was drunk with her friends telling her about my new number, I also texted it to her.

I didn't hear from her for a few weeks and I assumed that she had met somebody nearer her own age, I was 40 and she was 20 when we first met. One day I called her with the intention of having a laugh about who was the new younger guy? The phone was answered in Thai by a Thai man. I knew that she hated Thai men with a vengeance so I erased the Thai boyfriend thoughts from my mind. I phoned back a few hours later and the same guy answered, I told him that I knew it was Dow's mobile and that I wanted to speak to her. He was a policeman and he put me through to Dow's mother who was their at the police station to collect her belongings, her mother knew me a bit from phone chats whenever I was with Dow. Her mother explained what had happened in tears to me. Her mother told me that Dow was sad because I had changed my number and didn't want to speak with her (She'd obviously forgotten about the call I made when she was drunk). She told me tha Dow always told her I was a good man and that now she had lost her daughter she saw me as her son. It was all too much too fast for me. I was in denial and thought they were trying to set up some kind of scam on me so I sent a couple of my ex-pat mates to go and check. Unfortunately it was true and it appeared in the local papers and TV stations. She had other problems at the time and apparently took the drink/drugs route to help her forget in her last few weeks but it always bothered me that she thought I had changed my number to avoid her calls. She listened to me and I could have talked her out of it in minutes.

I was zapping TV programs and saw that picture, I find it indecent to make a show of the death of people, be it accident or suicide.

I zapped on. Sad to read it here. :o

This is very, very sad.

Thai girls are very emotionally unbalanced / passionate people when they have an outburst, a few Months ago I was put in a horrible position with my then TGF, when i finished with her. When I told her she sobbed uncontrollably on the phone, muttering something about taking tablets and ending it all so after calming her down I told her (against my better judgment but none the less it worked) that it was not completely over, I just needed to think for a few days. This bought her some time to not act on the spur of the moment and potentially do something stupid.

I ended up going back with her and gave her a second chance (bad decision) but it finished shortly after that but not in such an emotionally charged moment.

I will never know if she actually would have done it or if it was a ploy to blackmail me into not finishing with her but suffice to say that it is something I hope that none of you have to go through ever.

I now have another TGF, who is great but I am still haunted by the threat of the last one as it is so fresh. I couldn't even talk about it in open forum.

My thoughts are with her family and friends.

My GF sometimes says that she will kill herself if we break up. When she broke up with her deadbeat Thai husband five years ago, she almost drank herself to death with 'Lao Khao' & tried to kill herself; I've seen the marks on her wrists!

After all the talk on the forum about Thai women in Pattaya being supremely confident & 'jai dam'; it makes you think.

My condolences to her family & friends. May she RIP.

Peace. :GoldenSmile1:

Terrible story, Doc. I hope you don't hold any guilt. No matter what we do, the decisions that people make are beyond our control.

This is a very sad story, I feel terrible for her family and friends who loved her. Suicide is the most selfish thing someone can do (just ask a family member who is past the initial grief stage) and I have seen this selfish behaviour displayed by many Thai girls who don't get their own way.

Dr O'Boogie, my heart goes out to you and despite the questions you may sometimes ask yourself I hope you realize that there is nothing you could have done to prevent what happened.

How very sad. So young, what a waste. We all know how dramatic Thai girls can be but let's remember just how vulnarable these young ladies can be as well. RIP

I feel for you brother, no one should have to deal with that. It is a wound that will always remain a scar and although you don't want to forget the person you don't wanna feel the pain.

Peace

It's a sad thing when anyone takes their own life, yet alone a young girl or boy, with the whole of their future ahead.

Unfortunately, it isn't just Thai's that do. Australia has the highest suicide rate per capita, for under 30's.

Friends of my ex were teachers in NZ. One night they went to a school dinner, came home hit the garage door opener and there was their son hanging in the garage dead. They had no idea he would do it, no signs, just the usual having to nark him to put the garbage out, pickup his clothes etc. It devistated them, can't work, stay inside all the time.

I wonder how much modern tecnoledegy has increased things like this? Would she still have done it if there was no audience, if the boy that juilted her wasn't watching? Same for mobile phone cams of kids having sex, or fights, and phone and internet bullies.

I hope she has found peace.

    • For those that don't know, I did Friday meetings before many years ago,  I feel like we are missing a regular meeting for members,  I am aware guys meet at PA affiliated bars. But I want to start meeting people again, I'm inviting the guys following my YouTube also.

The meetings is a chance to get to meet each other,  I plan to be at every meeting, I also have Dean from Dive bar that has offered to help out with a crawl after.
The meetings will be  Monday  6 pm - 8 pm each week.  (The improvised bar crawl will commence at 8 p.m.  Dean will make his own plans for that.)

Due to low numbers of people in town, I will start the meetings in our bars to help our girls and managers, please check back often incase things are changed.  I will be sharing the love around town later, but Soi 6 is first on my list (including bars that are friendly competition)
If bar owners want us to have a meeting at their bar,  they need to have a minimum of 10 girls.  I'm not dragging people to empty bars for favours.
Please help us invite other members, it takes a while to get momentum.
Monday 6 pm - 8pm  (then bar crawl after)

      30th of May - Lust soi 6
