Hi BigReg I have an icon on my computer which always shows me the current exchange rate between the pound and the baht. And this morning before I came to work it was showing just under 48 baht to the pound. I'm on my tea break in work at the moment and I have just googled the exchange rate and the website I clicked on is showing 47.9143B to the pound.

 

Four weeks today I fly to Thailand for Christmas and New Year and I'm not too happy with the current exchange rate.

yeah its garbage isnt it. i hope its up near the 50 mark 6 weeks today (when i fly lol) but i cant see it. it really pisses me off knowing the baht was at 70 to the pound not a million years ago. whatever happens though, im still gonna have a fooking good time. may see you at the meet blue my friend.

I'm the same as you I'm not to happy with the exchange rate as it is now. I had many holidays to Pattaya when it was 70 to the pound. And I also wont let the poor exchange rate stop me from having a good time. If we meet then that will be great but I unfortunatly fly home on the 3rd January so we might just miss each other

u have only got a fortnight too...bloody crap int it. wish to god i could do what some lads do and spend 6 weeks out there but no can do i am afraid. have just realised though that new years eve is a friday. will there be a friday meet that night or not....

I was getting 53/54 last xmas (& songkran come to think of it), yet when the recession broke during my maiden trip in Jan 09, I was getting 47; now it's back down there again! Who'd have thunk it.

 

It's not looking good for the big move next year. Kasikorn rate ATM ~ 46.7

Sterling seems to be holding it's own against most other currencies. It is has bounced around a little against the dollar but seems to be sticking against the euro. It is really struggling to move against the baht.

A message I received today re Vis'a so although the baht rate is gloomy the Visa is free

 

hi dave just to let you know our visa have come today cant belive how quick they were sent tuesday got them back today thursday triple enrty visa free normaly £ 84 all they cost was £8 return post and all done in 2 days wow thats what i call a first class service lol all visa are free till march 2011 just thought i would let you know in case any 1 asks see you next week all the best.

Krung bank & Bangkok Bank are showing just above and just below 47, I find these pretty close to what gets reported from the exchanges

Bangkok bank listing is actually shown on this forum

 

I find that the gadget on windows desktop is approx 1baht higher.
