BIB on every intersection to SucKhumvit

Is it unusual or what? The whole of the Transport police seem to be swamping the whole area on the intersection of the railway/newroad from East Pattaya to suckhumvit, stopping every motor bike going inc myself, and doing anybody for anything, they have been in attendance at the usual stop on khao talo but now seem to be everywhere smiling assassins, if you have your license then its your tax next, then your log book! they will do you for anything, i was on my way to pick up my new tax disc with accompaning log book and was 100m away when stopped, but wouldnt listen to reason even though only 100m away with all papers, ticket issued by a very grumpy BIB. I still now am trying to avoid them as they will do you even for carrying a copy of your log book, any one else had issues this month?

Nope, they very rarely stop cars in Pattaya for random paperwork checks....lol

I was fined 1000 baht 2 weeks ago, got pulled over on the road from Jomtien to Pattaya.

 

The reason for the fine.... no real reason apart from I was riding a new and largeish rented bike. (Yamaha R6)

 

They make it up as they go along, everybody else was getting 500 baht fines

I live up the top of Khao Talo, and they have been whacking the the Railway intersection for a couple of months, but I have yet to be stopped there. They even set up a table so everyone can pay their fines on the spot. Barstewards.

 

I thought I was going to cop it (so to speak) one morning a few weeks back, passed a car just before the intersection and the copper stepped out onto the road, looked at me then stopped a Thai guy instead. phew

 

My book is never under the seat, the wife will take it out, if I put it back, she reckons if someone steals the bike, with the book, then it's bye bye, I'll never see it again

 

 

I wore a fine in Bangkok on Friday for being in the wrong lane, arsehole wouldn't listen to the reason for it either, I was looking for the building I wanted and just driving in the kerbside lane slowly, left hand indicator on, looked up and realised I was nearly at an intersection and was in a Left Turn Only lane, but still 50 to 60 metres from the intersection.

 

I immediately indicated to change into the next lane but had some arse wipe in a Mercedes close up the gap so I couldn't get in, but there was a large gap in front of the car in front of him so I moved up and into there, never at anytime blocking traffic, wouldn't accept that, the Tea Money pull is too great.

they are now breath testing people mostly farang at the khao noi intersection.

i asked the tgf why and she said they want money for holiday.

Yes been stopped 3 times in about a month, 1st was Tax check, 2nd was just a late night check, 3rd was tax again and licence and although my Thai driving licence ran out a week before they were ok, normally as long as you have everything in order you will be ok, not saying they will not try it on but I hear so many times guys getting done but its 99% of the time for doing something wrong or no helmet or tax run out etc.
