As the succes of our trips depends for a great deal on the quality of girls, partyplaces, hotels, food and activities I always try to gain lots of info on my next destination that i always combine with Pattaya. And to my surprise i noticed that in my search for info on Samui there is very little to find on the internetforums about Samui.

I know that most of us only hit Pattaya as it's the best in many ways but stil hope to get some real inside info from who has been there, as my last trip to Chaweng beach was april 2001! So lot's has changed.

And for the newbies I hope that my info helps you get started as Samui is a really good destination for party and women.

- Kokomiko Restaurant = At Ring Road, close to Hinta Hinyai South of Lamai A small but cozy restaurant with a menu including Thai, German and International dishes. We definitely recommend the steaks. Beer, wine and non alcoholic drinks. (South of Lamai beach, close to the Post Office).

- Zico’s restaurant = spectacular dining Chaweng beach, the Brazilian-themed Zico's is an on-fire mixture of entertainment, glam cocktails and skewer after skewer of freshly prepared meat served from sword-like serving knives by strolling waiters. To the side lies a salad bar to balance the all-you-can-eat fixed price meats. Entertainment takes place on a central stage and consists of bottom-wiggling sexy samba dancing girls in outfits that leave little to the imagination, live percussion and sax players.

- Bauhaus Bistro = serving up fresh seafood, steaks, schnitzels and mixed grills. With a decent wine list and a chic ambience, the restaurant, right next door to the Shamrock Pub, is slap-bang in the centre of things. Lamai main road.

Hi mate, whats the girl scene like on Samui, plenty around?

There's enough fish in the sea to be happy :GoldenSmile1: Ofcourse in Pats the quantity and quality is the best but in Samui is still plenty of local talent to choose from only. The partyscene is not as hectic as in Pats but a great location for a change!

great post, thank You sir!

I'll be heading to Samui after one month. I got a lot of info from here allready..

Always check the weather before you come as the last month it has been raining most of the time it is normally quite dry in January this must be the tail end of the monsoon.

My family normally visit me in February on samui but they have been unlucky with the weather the last couple of trips and have been going to Phuket instead.

I have been coming to Samui since 1998 and the changes here are unbelievable it is starting to look like any asian city but there are hidden gems here.

Coral cove is a nice little bay inbetween chaweng and lamai it has a little bar on the beach with a handfull of bungalows and perfect for snorkeling on the right day.

Tong son beach just past big buddah has a very quite beach with a restaurant and bungalows and if you walk along the rock platforms there is a superb enclosed beach with some nude bathers at times and good fishing off the rocks at high tide.

Lipa noi by big johns sea food is a spectacular location for sunset the sea is very shallow but nice to wallow in with a cold beer.

Get yourself a little brown local and enjoy these tranquil spots to the fullest and your holiday will be very memorable,

enjoy.

Any tips on this mate? I'm considering going to Samui in a couple of weeks, so how easy is it to find a little brown local? Where do you suggest looking? And how's it go for prices?
