Surin - Elephant fast , Starbeams -Top food ..

Anyone heading up to Surin for the Elephant festival, ticket info hotels and so on can all be found on www.surinfarang.com .A good recommendation is the Starbeams restaurant ,it near the bus station and Majestic hotel – if you where to come out of the Majestic hotel turn right and then you come to the main Rd turn right again and its on the right100 yard or so .Great Pizza ,Beef burgers , breakfasts , Mike the owner is a great guy and his Thai chief is renowned for her Thai food , not farang style ,so if you cant take the heat better mention this before she cooks for you ,my wife loves going there and so do I, some of the best Farang Mexican American food in Surin . Hope to meet a few of you guys over the elephant fest , keep you eye out for the free download of lifestyle magazine (Pattaya people) there’s a cover story on this next addition all about Surin and the fest , O ye and me !

I agree, the pizza's are very good and I like the fact that its no problem to pick and choose exactly what combination of topping you want. The Mexican Pizza and Nacho's are tops. All in air-conditioned comfort too! Mike's place is a great bonus for Surin City IMHO.

The Sportsmans bar is also a relaxed place to eat and drink you will find it near the bus station and facing the farang connection.

 

There is also a small drinking place on the road out of town in between Daxin and Pitstop on the way past big c and makro

 

Archa 35 Baht Chang 40 Baht Leo 45 Baht and a range of staffords foods available.Pies 85 baht i think.

There are several good and cheap places to eat on the road going out of town from Big C And Makro up to the intersection towards IQ

 

Food and beer is a lot cheaper in this area than in the farang places in the centre

 

There is also a Tesco/Lotus in this area a large swimming pool 5 mins away and some good local thai places to have a beer and chill out
