My user name on this site is mac269 and I have been a full time volunteer here at the Camillian Social Center Rayong for over 4 years now.

So first I must say Thank You Ever So Much to LaaMok the site administrator for starting this wonderful appeal for your children.

But naturally the very greatest’s of thanks to all who have already contributed to this appeal.

Our new website is http://www.hiv-aids-kids.org where we have up to date information and many of the latest photographs and a lot more videos.

However my main reason for making this post is first of all to say that if anybody would like to visit our center and have a tour of our facilities just drop me a line on aidskids@hotmail.com or if you have any questions regarding our work here please use the same email address.

I'll second everyone who's putting out a big WELL DONE to the PA crew for organising this donation. On my recent trip to Pattaya I joined WetWillie and a few other motley BM's in raising some cash for the Pattaya Orphanage, but the 50,000 THB we put together is nothing compared to the target total here, fantastic work guys.

Just back from Pattaya and pretty much (ahem) flat broke, but I'll be adding myself to the donor's list come pay-day. And, may I say, bloody good job Zubbi, a fantastic donation, good heart mate, good heart.

I'd like to offer my deepest gratitude to LaaMok for organizing this on the forum. Although I certainly don't personally know him, I feel that I'm able to recognize a worthy cause when I see it.

I intentionally come across as somewhat unapproachable and tough at times in the real world, I have my reasons, yet it's something I often strive to overcome. The truth is I have a huge soft-spot for the truly unfortunate, for I'm all too aware of how easily that could be me or one of my loved ones in such a terrible position. Whom among us is more vunerable due to no fault of their own than the children?

No matter one's viewpoint on religion, karma, an afterlife or not, reincarnation, etc, one could do alot worse with a bit of cash than to help others whom're truly needy, in mho.

I fully intend to give a bit more substantially to what I see as such a good cause during my time in Pattaya next month.

An additional big thanks to all my fellow BMs who're able to donate and see fit to do so.

Thats fine, you can go down there for a guided tour, everything is shown and explained, right up to the point of showing that there is only two admin salaries paid for the whole operation, therefore, even more money goes to the children.

Dear Alleycat

My user name here is mac269 and I have been a volunteer here at the center for over 4 years now. Don’t worry I am not one of the GOD squad.

First I need to say that if is wonderful what The Pattaya Addicts and all of you are doing for our children.

So with that in mind lets organize a mass visit, Saturday and Sunday are best so you can meet all the children that you are razing this cash for. Most of our children attend local school during the week.

You can find and print out a map from this page http://www.hiv-aids-kids.org/hivaidscontact.html we are real easy to find on the main road Sukhumvit ½ way between Ban Chang & Map Ta Phut. It takes about 30 minutes from Pattaya by car.

After all for those of you that do not already know us it is nice to know where your cash is going.

Dear Mac269, thank you very much for your invitation - we are proberly looking at near Christmas or January. Another question for you. Do the camillian Social Center accept volounteers for free? might sound a silly questin but many farangs want to do volunter work for free, but some Orphan homes in Thailand actually wants payment - guess for food and shelter. If you need volunter workers I can spread the word around.

Dear M&M

We had not thought of charging for such things but believe me I can see why they do ask for it, see below.

I do hope to see you and many of your friends down here at the center as soon as you can make it. Especially concerning your willingness to volunteer here.

We have a hard job sorting out the wheat from the chafe. Especially over just a few emails. This is because in this day and age the idea of young people going overseas with very little in their pockets and wishing to volunteer here or there is becoming a way of having a cheap holiday. Out of the few we accept we get some that are very good and indeed settle in and really help, and then we get the others. This page explains the volunteering opportunities that we offer people who are mostly coming to visit Thailand from over seas. http://www.hiv-aids-kids.org/hiv-aids-you-can-help.html'>http://www.hiv-aids-kids.org/hiv-aids-you-can-help.html The really good one who have gained most from their experience with us, go home and really help by raising cash and sending it so we can do the job.

We could probable save something like a 1/3rd of our costs if we could rely on a volunteer work force. However no matter how dedicated a volunteer is, their time because of their life outside the center can not be easily managed to suite are necessities.

Being blunt volunteering in our PCU means a willingness to change adult diapers and help people who can’t get out of bed shower. At the Garden of Eden it means getting up late at 6:00am, and digging ditches. No volunteer works with the children. Why? Look around you. We maybe over protective, perhaps but these kids have had a hard enough time in there short lives without putting them at further risk.

If you read through the website at http://www.hiv-aids-kids.org/ hopefully you will realize that we have to have a permanent Thai staff to undertake all the work that has to be undertaken here. Most of whom are HIV positive.

If you and your friends really want to help where we need it most, raise money so that we can do the job that so badly needs to be done.

Only by sparing us a little time for a visit will this become abundantly clear so we really do hope to see you all soon.

    • For those that don't know, I did Friday meetings before many years ago,  I feel like we are missing a regular meeting for members,  I am aware guys meet at PA affiliated bars. But I want to start meeting people again, I'm inviting the guys following my YouTube also.

The meetings is a chance to get to meet each other,  I plan to be at every meeting, I also have Dean from Dive bar that has offered to help out with a crawl after.
The meetings will be  Monday  6 pm - 8 pm each week.  (The improvised bar crawl will commence at 8 p.m.  Dean will make his own plans for that.)

Due to low numbers of people in town, I will start the meetings in our bars to help our girls and managers, please check back often incase things are changed.  I will be sharing the love around town later, but Soi 6 is first on my list (including bars that are friendly competition)
If bar owners want us to have a meeting at their bar,  they need to have a minimum of 10 girls.  I'm not dragging people to empty bars for favours.
Please help us invite other members, it takes a while to get momentum.
Monday 6 pm - 8pm  (then bar crawl after)
      21st March - Playpen Soi 6
28th March - Night wish bar Soi 6
