I am tempted to stay with you in January. Ok you dont have a pool but you are near the Mikey Mall and I could use the pool there.

Just a few questions?

1)I assume you have a security guard late at night? If I bring a girl back, does she leave her ID card with him?

2)I see you have your own girls working there. Now If I bring a girl from another bar or the beach, will they all have the hump and be Jealous?

3) As I plan to fuck many girls, say I take one of your girls for a day or two, and then finish with her. Would it be awkward with her, when I am hanging around the bar with a girl I picked up from outside?

4) What time do you do breakfast until? Is it a buffet?

5) Does the room include breakfast for a guest? If not how much?

Thanks

Well, 'most' places don't - especially not Irish Rovers.

I stayed there once, but the rooms were a little old for my liking, and the A/C took forever to cool the room down, but it is a great place with fantastic staff, if you don't mind the budget style rooms then you'll have a blast, otherwise you can find a lot of better rooms for a couple hundred baht more without joiner fees - use agoda to price a room then contact the hotel direct and get a further discount.

Always book your room as a double (as sometimes a single rate only includes a single breakfast) and always ask about joiner fees - they all know what you mean - if they have a joiner fee then DO NOT STAY.... by supporting places with joiner fees you just make it more likely for other places to charge. Make sure you let the person know that the joiner fee is the reason you will not stay with them.

in order then

1. yes and yes bar open 24 hours

2. yes but no matter where you stay this will be the same,,,, ,maybe better f you stay in a place with no bar girls,,,and also this would be a problem in a regular hotel also if say you were to play around with the staff ,

3. yes,,,, face lost and all that crap

4. breakfast all day,,,,not buffet but can have delivered in room at no extra cost

5. not included but add 149 for full english,,,,thai breakfast around 110

from your questions you are fairly new to pattaya,,,,a great thing we offer that money cant buy at a lot of hotels is we give free honest impartial advice about the local area and thai girls etc,,, saving you thousands and possibly millions in the long run,,

have fun wherever you decide to stay,,

cheers

Hi im booked to stay with you in january,i was looking at WAN KINGS questions and your answeres, questions 2-3 would it still be a problem if i was to explain i was a butterfly or better just to take ladies from other bars? .For the immigration form what is the address for IRISH ROVERS.

thank you

As I'm nothing to do with the Irish Rovers I'll add my tuppence worth so you can get a totally unbiased opinion.

1. 24 hr security, the last time I stayed there the bar was open 24 hrs a day, mind you that was when Pat & Dom ran the place and they could be right pissheads. Short answer, totally safe.

2. My advice here is the same for all Pattaya establishments. Never shit on your own doorstep. By all means have a laugh with the girls and buy them the odd drink.

3. See answer 2

4. The beauty of almost any bar with rooms is that they'll pretty much cater to individual taste. If you want brekky at noon, there will be someone there to make it for you. Again, I dont know if thats still the case at the Irish Rovers but in general I've found far better service in these places compared to hotels.

5. I dont mean to be funny but the price of a breakfast? Believe me, when you're in LOS and on the piss you'll spend more cash in 5 baht bits finding a toilet than you will spend on breakfast.

I would say to the OP that you're not asking the right question. Am I better off staying in a bar? I cannot stress enough to any newbie the advantages in staying in a place like the Iris Rovers. It can be a bit akward asking a hotel receptionist where the best mongers hangouts are but a bar owner is a wealth of current knowledge and is worth his weight in gold. Somebody mentioned that the rooms were a bit old for his taste. OK I haven't stayed there for 18 months, no reason just needed a change in scenery, but I can assure you they were clean, good size fridge (an essential) and a big comfy bed. Lets face it we dont go to LOS looking for a trouser press, most TGs will do that for you anyway.

Apologies to the current owner of the Irish Rovers for answering question that was obviously directed at him but I always value an independant review.

Let me add a few questions as well.

Is the Irish Rover run by Irish people and if so where in Ireland?

Do you have a good stout on draft?

What parties do you have organized around xmas and New Years.

I don't have a clue about this post.

Joiners fee = a fee charged by the hotel / guesthouse if you bring a visitor to your room.

I have never heard of any guesthouse in Pattaya charging for joiners. Irish Rovers certainly does not. You may get joiner fees at some larger hotels or family oriented resorts. They will always tell you if you ask them before hand.

I have no idea why footscray posted that 'info'!

Stayed there for a 3 week stay back in Jan 2010. All the rooms were clean and tidy, I swapped over part way through from a large to a small room and the AC in both rooms worked fine.

Security was never an issue, both the cleaning girls were fantastic and I never once was concerned about anything being pinched. If you wanted a breakfast early or late in the day the staff were more than happy to cook it up or on occasion I'd order from a place just up the soi and they would deliver. It was owned back then by Dom and Ian, both happy to provide advice on places to go. I don't really know the 2 new owners Andy and Simon but i'm sure they both probably have a wealth of knowledge, like most guesthouse/bar owners

I'd certainly recommend this place for someone looking for a hassle free place to stay thats clean, tidy and doesnt have any issues or charge you for bringing a friend back. Another bonus is there's so many good places around the LK Metro area and if Walking streets your thing then a Baht buss is easily available on Soi Bukhao

My 2 cents worth

Cheers

The Irish Rovers is a great bar and I wished I had found it 6 trips earlier than I did.

I am usually a Soi 6er but I am kinda getting over it because it is a bit too fill on for my TGF who only comes down from Yasothon to see me so is not really impressed with the BG scene but I have to say she liked Soi Lk Metro and liked the Irish Rovers.

Simon showed me around the Bar and I have to say that I was very impressed with the layout and cleanliness of it,

He also chewed the fat with me about Pattaya so always good if it is your first trip to Pattaya as although Pattaya Addicts is a great source of info, there is nothing better than on the coal face advice in your first couple of days at least.

Being able to eat in the place is an added bonus, normally I stay in a beer bar that doesn't serve food so that is a pain in the arse.

Soi Bukhao haa everything you need right on your doorstep from restaurants to laundry, shops, clubs, gogo's, Devils Den you name it, it is there pretty much.

I have to say I will be staying there next trip and will make sure I book well in advance as it is always busy.(another good indication).

The no joiners fee is great as well and the staff all were very friendly to me as well.

In summary you can't go wrong unless you are one of those customers that nobody can keep happy.LOL

Enjoy your trip
