Air Asia/Melbourne Airport Question.

I'm looking at flying from Melbourne to Singapore with Air Asia on a flight departing at 0925

after arriving at Melbourne at 0730 with Virgin. Would I have enough time to get to check in assuming

the Air Asia check in closes at 0825? I'm not familiar with Melb airport.

I think that connection is too tight. I don't know about Melbourne airport but as Air Asia are a point to point carrier you need to allow lots of time for the connection. What if yout Virgin is delayed by 45 minutes? I don't think I would risk it.

That connection is way too risky.. you will have to pick up your bags too

and then its a 4 minute walk to the other terminal

you would probably make it...though but it will be a stress I waited 10-15 minutes for my bags to arrive the other week in melb.If it was Singapore Air you could get away with it as you can check in online

maybe bite the bullet and fly in on the last flight the night before and stay at the airport hotel

very stress free

Fine if your Virgin flight runs on time - but if late you will be in trouble . Melbourne not a huge airport - take 5 mins max to pick up bags and get to check in but if flight delayed - need bags to check in to Air Asia realistically could take up to 20 mins_for bags - depends on how cheap the flight is I suppose and if you can afford another

Any idea what time the bars close in the airport in Melbourne. Have domestic flight landing at 4.30 pm boxing day. Air Asia flight to KL doesn't leave until 1.30am on the 27th. KL then Bangas then onto Pattaya.

I wouldn't trust Virgin at the moment, they are having all sorts of trouble

try an earlier flight into Melb, or try another airline :Cross_Fingers:

yeh agree with others. probably 9 out of 10 times you would get through ok but it's risky.

BM Phoenix2Jack missed his flight from melbourne last time and he was there 3 hours before! I think he was chilling with a beer before going thru the security check thru and this is where the hold up occurred as it was just too busy.

So - yes - big chance it could all go horribly wrong
