Buy Vicodin?

I am currently taken Vicodin here in the US to treat arthritis pain. If I bring a print out of my prescription will that be enough or do I need to get a new prescription from a local doctor?

Definitely bring your prescription but Thai doctors strongly look down on what they view as narcotics they may not honor your prescription out of fear. Just my experience maybe others can tell you different.

I had my doctor write me a prescription for 200 percodan and 200 Soma before leaving the USA. So had plenty to last for the last 3 years. I have been trying to get something similar here, but no luck. A doctor told me they only prescribe serious medicines like this if you have a terminal illness like Cancer. He said they give you morphine tablets or something along those lines.

 

I just like to have them onhand for when I am really in bad shape. I have a serious back problem, which requires Major Arterior Posterior reconstruction. Since I don't have any insurance, this is out of the question. Although if I did have insurance, it would still be out of the question. I could have done it years ago, but opted not to when I did have health care. When my back goes and it frequently does. I cannot even move without the most incredible pain shooting through my body.

 

So if anybody does have any suggestions on this. I would greatly appreciate it. I have been to the hospital here when I could not even walk and the pain was incredible when they were moving me. The best I can do is get a shot of Morphine if I stay in the hospital, but what they give me to go home with is Tramadol, basically worthless in you in any kind of real pain.

You won't get it here unless you are hospitalized with prescription or not. Strongest crap I've gotten here is Tylenol 3. I know of some places supposedly selling some pain meds under the counter but I doubt most the stories I"m hearing. Pain med's and such are difficult to get.

 

You bring enough to last you and you better have them in a original bottles with labels and copies of prescription or doctors letters etc...

Yes , as I had read on this site Thailand bans the sale of any med's that are opium based, i.e. Vicodin. But get your prescription filled ( in my case the US ) & have your name on the bottle,

then get your doctor to write you a simple one page letter ( stating your name & birth date ) on his practice's letter head , have him sign it and it wasn't a problem for me when I arrived last month.

In fact , I went to the " items to declare line " and the Thai customs officer " looked at me as if I was in the wrong line. Then to be polite he asked if those Vicodin were just

for my use & gave back the med's , the letter and I was on my way.

But I was careful not to travel from place to place with out the letter ( Phuket - BKK-Pattaya-BKK etc. ) For caution that the next encounter not play so well .
