An American man has been arrested over possession of a small quantity of marijuana in Pattaya on Wednesday. In bizarre fashion, the man announced his possession of the illegal drug to a police patrol without provocation.

 

According to a police statement, the man, Mr Jeffery Allen Storner [56], had announced his possession of the illicit narcotic by ‘waving’ the substance at police, taunting them to arrest him. He was later found to be in possession of approximately 1 gram of the illegal narcotic.

 

Officer confronted Mr. Storner, who appeared in an intoxicated state in front of a local 7-Eleven on Soi 15, behind Wat Chaimongkol. According to the report, Mr. Storner professed loudly that he was an American national and that it was legal to smoke and possess marijuana in the United States.

Never ceases to amaze me how some folks represent themselves and home countries when they are overseas...

 

American's get a bad rap but every country has it's idiots so I'm not slamming just the American's here.

 

I'd suspect the low qty, his intoxication, and maybe his mental state might come into play. The US Embassy will of course visit him and assist him no matter the crime.

 

I'd suspect due to the small qty, a nice monetary fine, a nice apology, a good doctor's visit to claim he is retarded... and expulsion from the Kingdom will suffice in this case. With the proper monetary donation I'm sure he won't even be asked to leave the country.

A wise attorney once told me that the only group of people who lie more than cops is defendants. We haven't heard what the defendant has to say.

What a tool, he's completely wrong anyway, it's not legal anywhere in the US at this time! Possibly after November in California but even if that happens it will still be illegal on a federal level. So the bottom line is that the feds can still bust you whenever they like and they will, even though Obama told them to back off. Medical MJ card or not it won't do him a bit of good and he certainly won't be getting any love from the embassy. Not that any of this matters cus he simply isn't in the US.
