Marrying the thai GF

hi guys, have been with thai missus almsot 3yrs ,we intend to live in thailand eventually but my mum has just passed away and thus I now have my own [rented] home so we figured marrying and her working here would be better while we are still young [36/23] .

I've been told a UK finacee visa is a waste of time and money as we defo intend to marry so do I fly to LOS marry her then return with supporting doc's? ,proof of r-ship,marriage cert ,UK rental doc and atleast 3 wage slips ? then are we good to go ?

Not working at the minute so i assume theres no chance of getting her as I'm living on benefits ,is this the best way of doing things.

Shes a good middle class girl ,well educated and has held 2 US visa's and 1 UK tourist visa so I dont predict many probs there .

Cheers

You need to be more specific as to your requirements are you talking about settling in the UK ?

If you cannot meet the maintenance & accommodation requirements the UK/BA will not issue you with a visa, have you any savings/third party support ?

Maybe I'm stupid for replying to a UK visa question with an USA visa answer but, here goes. In the US, at least, a fiancee visa is much quicker to get than a marriage visa. You get her into the country faster and the rest of the process is completed there. Maybe it's the same in the UK.

Yes a UK settlement ,I was advised its cheaper and easier to marry in Tland then enter the UK and apply for the spouse visa which would require proof of our r-ship ,my rental house papers and atleast 3 month wage slips?

However to avoid the sin sot issue until such a time as I can afford her we were thinking of getting her the UK on the finacee visa then marrying here and applying for the spouse visa?

Thoughts?

Why is it easier if you marry in Thailand you apply for a settlement visa if you wish to marry in the UK you would require a fiancé visa.

Fiancé(e)s and proposed civil partners

Husbands, wives and civil partners

Cheers mate ,also been told unless I can show I earn £1200 a month atleast I cant get her here ? is there any truth in that?

Totally no truth in that we have lots of visa experts whom have never applied for a visa yet no everything about visa applications !

You must demonstrate you can maintain & accommodate her without recourse to public funds.

What are public funds is your next question ?

Public funds

You are entitled to public funds of course its only the applicant who cannot claim funds.
