£650 for 13 nights, bangkok?

I have NO idea, but saw this when I clicked on the link for more hotel details:

"Rates are based on double occupancy. Charges for extra adults may apply and will be due directly to the hotel."

I read two things into this:

1. If you are going solo, they may charge a higher amount for the "package" deal

2. Once you get there, you may be paying joinder fees for "guests"

Again, this is simply my reading of those passages. It is NOT based on any personal knowledge or experience.

If you check the price of a similar flight on it's own and then deduct it from the total price I think you'd find upwards of £200 reprsenting the cost of the accomodation. Khao San Road isn't a great part of Bangkok for mongering. Don't get me wrong, it's a good deal but personally, in this case I'd go for a cheap flight on it's own and the flexibility of being able to choose my own budget accomodastion when I get there.

You do see some great deals including accomodation to Pattaya from time to time.

I've used lastminute plenty of times. Just give them a call and they can give you any info you want. They do get some great deals. I stayed in a 5 star hotel in Amsterdam earlier this year around Easter 200 euros for 4 nights.

Oh, not sure about the double occupancy.. selected 1 adult, 1 room

Just seems odd - I changed the nights from 14 to 13, went from £1000ish14 nights.. to £600 13nights

Thanks anyway guys

Figure out the price you actually pay instead of reading the promo headline. They nickle and dime you. Double occupancy, taxes, surcharges, departure from city you want, etc, and it costs substantially more. Similar deal was posted on Fatwallet.com in the US a month or two ago. The base cost was $999.

That said, BKK hotels vary greatly in price and quality. So do the tours. Value of this trip all depends on how good accommodations and trips are, IMO.

What does everyone aim for this time of year price wise?

I fancy a decent hotel £30 a night mark...

What sort of flight prices has everyone achieved this time of year>?

Seems a good deal.

Theres lots of empty hotel space in BKK at the moment. so they are probably quite keen to fill in any way they can. Especialyl through deals like this as the hotel can keep its on the door rates and sell out extra rooms on-mass to deals like this.

I doubt the hotel is that great.

The budget places in BKK can be really budget.

I'd do as much reseach as you can on the hotel first.

but it does seem a decent offer. Assuming you want to stay in BKK for the duration, and thats the class of hotel your happy with.

Personally I'd be tempted to get a flights only deal and sort hotels out myself as i like the flexibility.

but the savings are tempting..

don't forget mongering is more expensive in BKK than Pattaya so the initial saving may be lost compared to booking a cheap flight and going to Pattaya instead
