I spent a few nights there in 2009. It's OK but nothing special. Around 1100 baht a night for a decent room. Price is right for the location. Girl-friendly. The only problem is that there are too many French people (joke).

Nearly wouldn't be a joke...

As a french guy, I just hate going holiday and being surrounded by french people, as I was staying home !

As nice as it could be, a french hotel would be the last place I would go in thailand.

I know the feeling, mate. In fact, the reason why I didn't stay long at Ma Maison was that too many people were speaking French when I was having breakfast: they were talking about the news in France, politics and so on. It pissed me off because it reminded me too much of home :(

hahaha. That's why I never stay in English run hotels (I'm English) and try to avoid places with large numbers of English speakers (not easy)

I prefer some unknown language so it just sounds like noise!

I've tried staying at Ma Maison but they were always full.

It appears that they have renovated their rooms with prices to match! Seems way overpriced now. Used to be around 1200 Baht during high season, now 1780.

I used to stay there alot a few years ago and loved the setting of the pool and the restraunt and I had a room on the ground level which made it very easy to get in and out .

The food was great and always had a good Chefs set menu but it was cheap then and they have now put the prices up of the rooms and food, drinks etc

Great location but too pricey for me now :GrinNod1:
