Diabetes

I have type 1 diabetes. I need to inject insulin twice a day and closely monitor my blood sugar levels. Will I be able to take my supplies (insulin pens, needles, blood meter, etc.) into Thailand? If not, how much will I have to pay for it over there? I assume it would be expensive..

Edit - I should have known better than to start a thread without consulting Google first.

It doesn't look like I'll have any problems, aside from explaining the needle marks in my stomach to the girls. :)

No, You will have no problems. I do also suffer from Diabetes and always bring the supply of insulin and needles when i go. Never had a problem. When i went to stay there long time (6+ months) some years ago,, i brought all the supplies i needed for that period of time. I happened to be stopped in customs,, but the only thing they told me was that "next time bring a letter from your doctor stating that it is prescribed" - but as it was insulin they did not bother at all

Everyone has the right to my opinion

There should be no problem with any diabetic supplies.

I usually find they know what it is as soon as they see it.

A doctors note should be carried as well as a list of medication but in 20 years I have never been asked for this.

It is also a good idea to have 2 sets of supplies each enough to last your whole holiday. 1 in your luggage, and 1 in your carry on.

Just tell them 'mee glu koht maak maak' = 'have glucose too much', then point to your veins. That should stop them thinking that you're a junkie!

Peace. :GoldenSmile1:

Most customs guys know if you are bringing in needles odds are you are a diabetic. Saw a guy clear customs in Mexico at the San Diego border with like 300 needles. He was older and very respectful and said he even had a doctors note if Customs wished to see it but the guy waved him through and said have a nice day. Apparently its cheaper to get the needles there in Mexico so he did that.

    • For those that don't know, I did Friday meetings before many years ago,  I feel like we are missing a regular meeting for members,  I am aware guys meet at PA affiliated bars. But I want to start meeting people again, I'm inviting the guys following my YouTube also.

The meetings is a chance to get to meet each other,  I plan to be at every meeting, I also have Dean from Dive bar that has offered to help out with a crawl after.
The meetings will be  Monday  6 pm - 8 pm each week.  (The improvised bar crawl will commence at 8 p.m.  Dean will make his own plans for that.)

Due to low numbers of people in town, I will start the meetings in our bars to help our girls and managers, please check back often incase things are changed.  I will be sharing the love around town later, but Soi 6 is first on my list (including bars that are friendly competition)
If bar owners want us to have a meeting at their bar,  they need to have a minimum of 10 girls.  I'm not dragging people to empty bars for favours.
Please help us invite other members, it takes a while to get momentum.
Monday 6 pm - 8pm  (then bar crawl after)

2nd May - (next bar we have open)
      9th May - Cooters bar soi 6
16th May - Hot shots bar Soi 6

      30th of May - Lust soi 6

I look forward to meeting people again.
