Pattaya Bay Resort - Specials

Recommended Posts

Posted

I'm thinking about staying at Pattaya Bay Resort since they have had some good reviews.

Do they ever offer any specials other than what is on their website? For example, an upgraded room at the "standard" rate.

I will be in Pattaya in the off-season (end of September/early October).

They do not need to run promotions because they are pretty much full all year round.

7 nights for the price of 6 is the best you will get I think.... but if you don't ask, you don't get.

they"ll knock a 100bht a day off if you dont have breakfast too..bout 900 bht a nite and one nite free a week i got in june..hope this helps..good hotel ..ask if you need anymore info

Just had a look at there prices, rather expensive for the area i think. Also are they serious about the deposit? 500baht a DAY for your stay.So stay a month got to give them 15,000bht as a deposit so £300.Never heard or stayed at a hotel in Patts or BKK that do this.

I don't think 999 baht (+ tax) is expensive and paying upfront or a deposit is fine by me.

They must be doing something right as they are usually full.

15k deposit is ok? 999 plus tax for a basic room, isn't expensive? Would be expensive before the exchange rate went south in this financial climate if theres no negotiating then theres better deals around.

How I found PBR was staying at the Mecure next door and got run off for the weekend or some shit. Mercure told me I could come back Monday. I saw the hotel next door, so I went over there. That's when Gloy was working there. First two times they took deposit, never since me being the nice guy that I am.

Taking a deposit is their usual policy but is often waived for regulars. I stay there regularly and prefer settling up for my whole stay when I check in as it makes checking out very quick.

I think 999 baht for a "basic" room is fine. It's clean with great maid service, comfortable King size beds, very secure, free wireless internet and PCs in reception, nice pool, small fitness room, multi-channel TV, good restaurant/room service, very girl friendly with IDs checked and no girl allowed to leave without confirmation from you that everything's OK, free 24-hour tuktuk service to 2nd Road or soi Bukaow, any problems are dealt with efficiently and quickly and all staff speak English and there's an American owner/manager if the staff can't solve the problem.

A 500.00 Baht per night refundable security deposit (capped at 3,000.00 Baht) is required upon check-in

So deposit is maximum of 3000 baht

Do they have elevator?

Do they have elevator?

They have two elevators. It's a very nice place to stay (especially if you like the Soi LK Metro area) although, of course, the rates are better during low season.

2 elevators? I have stayed there 6 times over the last 3 years... always 1 elevator.

If youre comparing them to Guesthouses that dont have a pool, 24 hour reception, room service, 24 hour security, cleaning staff virtually all day etc etc etc and is just a room above a bar then they are rightly more expensive. Would love to know a comparable hotel in the area thats cheaper.

I had a recent stay at PBR. It was decent hotel. I arranged transfer from the BKK airport and they were timely and picked me up in a nice Camry (leather, a/c, etc.) It took 1h30m and when we arrived the bellman took my bags. The front desk stated that my standard room wasn't ready, but they had deluxe/superior room ready at my early check-in so I booked 3 nights for 1700b. They took me up the side elevator to the right of reception and that was the only time I used that elevator. I would have liked a better gym with more free weights or dumbbells and never ended up using it (pretty old and unused equipment). The room was spacious and clean with the minor inconvenience of ants crawling around. I think the bathrooms should be updated, but not a big problem compared to price. I think the king bed was comfortable and clean. They always left 2 bottles of water in the fridge everyday and I tipped the cleaners.

The PC's in the lobby were fine to use in case you don't bring a laptop and also the front desk staff were very friendly when it came to bringing back guests. They actually smiled when I brought guests back to the room and thought they would be upset, but I brought a different girl back every night (I never tried the 3som, but at August Suites they charge an extra 500b per guest over 2). The restaurant on the top floor with the pool was very good. I had the Thai dishes which were reasonably priced. When I checked out they said they were sorry they couldn't accommodate me for one of their larger rooms. They asked where I would complete the rest of my stay and I told them August Suites (they must have been or heard since they said very nice).

I would say it is in a decent location behind Avenues Mall, but I want something directly on the 2nd or Beach Rd. Very good value for what I paid and wonderful staff.

Hey Koolbeans, thats a really good review. I've just made a reservation after reading your views for 1 Nov to 13 Nov. Can you just clarify what you mean when it comes to paying for taking girls back? Do they charge for singles as well as multiple?

Looking forward to visiting there in a few weeks. Thanks again for taking the time to post!

You must be a sexy man to avoid extra charge. :)

It's up to the receptionist.

I never tried taking 2 girls back at one time, but they (PBR) seem more receptive than the Filipinos that work at August Suites. My BG tried to talk to them (August Suites) in Thai, but they were Filipino and did not understand. I think it is strictly enforced at August Suites. 500b per extra over 2 booo!
