Hi Guys,

I've been past the Baywalk Residence a million times and never stayed there. Was thinking of giving it go next month for a change as agoda have a resonable price at the moment.

Any good/bad points, worth the money? etc

i stayed there for 10 days in July and its OK for the money. its a short walk to Walking Street and Beach Road. the rooms are a decent size and pretty clean and the rooftop pool is a nice place to chill with a beer. dont be planning to get to sleep too early as it is a bit noisy outside but who goes to Patts for early nights?

I suggest that you make sure that your room has a balcony. According to their website, all superior rooms has balcony, but I checked the hotel a few weeks ago when I was at pats and found out from receptionist that not all the rooms have balconies. Otherwise the hotel looked quite nice. I remember reading somewhere that if your room is facing the backside of the hotel, there might be some chickens/roosters who might wake you up early in the morning, not good.

Ive stayed there twice now and both times we thoroughly enjoyed it as we had 2 beachfront units with huge balconies overlooking the bay and all the happenings on beach road it was great you must try the VW Kombi decked out into a cocktail bar down below as its a awesome way to kick your night off

I stayed in deluxe. From the pics on Agoda, the Nouveau just appears to have a slightly different layout.

I liked the hotel, beach is across the street and 5 minutes walk to Walking Street. Also its got an itatian restaurant out front if you want a change from thai food.

I will be staying there again at Songkran

How much will you pay for room during songkran? You have balcony in room?

Just a quick word of advice. I've stayed at the Baywalk twice in the last year and both times I booked through Agoda. However both times I have extended my stay and have been given cheaper rates at the front desk than through Agoda. I think I got 1400 baht per night during Songkran last year.

And yes there are is a rooster in the house on the back side of the hotel who is very annoying at 6am. Amusingly though his calls do sound like he's saying "eat the pussy"!

Agoda are advertising $66AUD (2050bht) for deluxe room over songkran (note: the hotel website is advertising 3200bht for songkran)

I am surprised that this hotel did not get better reviews. This response may be a little dated, but maybe it can help someone else. I stayed at the Baywalk Residence Inn on my first trip to Pattaya. I see no reason to ever stay anywhere else when I hit the Patts. The only gripe I had was that the gym wasn't great. But oh well, I burned calories in other ways! Prime location, great staff, spotless room, amazing pool. I booked for less than 50 USD per night which I thought was GREAT for the service I received.

I have planned to stay at this hotel a few times, but never did stay there.

For me it is very important that the room has a balcony. I understood that not all the rooms has one, atleast some basic-superior rooms don't have balcony. Yes I could book deluxe room with balcony, but those rooms types are little bit too expensive for me.

If I book cheaper superior room, then I might get a room which do not have balcony. I have emailed hotel a few times, but they don't reply. One other miinus I hear about this hotel is if your room is facing "back alley", there is rooster who starts making big noise every morning, very early.

I stayed there last december and its a good clean classy hotel. The pool is great with a spectacular view.

What i didnt like was staying that end of pattaya. To many russians and arab tourist types means that it is more expensive than the boukow, LK Metro area.

Maybe i just like the smaller more homely feel hotels.

Ive just come back from there and the hotel is good apart from the fact that they are renovating some of the rooms so dont expect to sleep in after 7.30 am because thats when the power tools start and go all day.

There is a good safe in the room

They have ethernet connection internet that is absolutly crap, too many dropouts.

Thanks for the above!

Etherenet without wi-fi? I'm asking since ethernet in LK Ren was awful (blocking my POP email servers and slow), but wi-fi was surprisingly quite OK, and no blocking of outgoing mails (via POP).

Anyone has experience on the email issue from Baywalk?

Some questions.. Is it true that there is no key card system in rooms and you have to carry a big old fashioned key with you?

Is the renovation still going on?

Yes, true. They don't have a key card system. Normal key and a relativ big tag. I didn't take the key with me so it wasn't so important for me.

Also they don't have flat screens so it gives you a little kind of old style feeling.

Professional and friendly staff, good roommates, my room wasn't noisy, the location is great, i can't say something about joiner fee or if it is girlfriendly or not because is stayed with my wife.

So overall i would recommend the hotel and i would book it again.
