Sorry to hear of this guy's accident but the nominal cost of obtaining travel insurance would make it a little less stressful

Very true I would also suggest reading the policy to see what you are actually are and are not covered for some policies for instance do not cover driving or riding on a motorcycle others limit the size of the bike most even if they allow it would say you have to have a licence.

Choose the policy based on what cover you need not just the cost.

My experience tells me if an insurance company can find a way not to have to pay they will.
